   Hi guys,

   I am trying to install WP on a server. I have created a MySQL database using MyPHPAdmin, I have configured the wp-config.php file and I have uploaded everything in a subcategory named "blog". The details in the config file seem to be correct, however when I "run" the install.php file, I get a bunch of question marks. I am using Firefox 1.5. I have tried with IE and I get a bunch of squares.

   MySQL database has no tables in it, so I guess I have to set them up. How do I do that and is that the problem?

   A link to the install.php might be useful to see what's happening.

   I'd delete all the WP files and folders, clean the database and start from the scratch. Now! And before trying to re-install check if your host server has the necessary requirements for running WP > see on top of this page > About > Requirements.

   OK, I'll look do that and look at the requirements again. I'll check it now.

   It seems I have all the requirements. In order to have MyPHPAdmin I have to have the same requirements for WP, so I should be fine with the requirements. I'll try deleting all the WP files and clean up the database as you said and see what happens. Though the database contains nothing at all.

   I am still getting the same problem. I am not sure what to do now...

   You either have a corrupted copy of the WP files or your server has some problems. In the files I've checked there were a lot of other stuff inserted.

   It's chinese. You've installed the wrong language, i'm afriad. Try re-downloading wordpress, making sure you've got the ENGLISH version.

    Oh... but I downloaded it from this site and I unzipped it... OK, I'll redownload.

    You guys are great! I re-downloaded the files and re-uploaded. Everything works fine, WordPress installed straight away. Thank you.
