Making Custom Page Types work with Featured Image

I’m using a plugin called custom post types ui and I’m trying to make a list of galleries where you add a new post (essentially) when you want to add a gallery to the page. I use a loop to call of the posts of that specific post type and display the featured post type and then the title. Well I had it working just find one point and now I can’t get it to work again. I know I have the featured image added into the functions file because I got it working on my regular posts and pages. I went to the admin section of the plugin to make sure that support for it was turned on for the specific post type. I even went so far as to add my own custom post type (with the plugin turned off) and then tried to add support that way. No luck. I know if can be done because one of my photos is showing a feature image. It’s just not working any more. Does someone know why?
