one user management of several blogs

ok, i’m sure this has been debated before but searching for it made me feel a little lost: i’m looking for a plugin that would allow me to post to say, a weblog and from the same admin post to a photolog. i’m told this can be done with category exclusion, but searching for it returns nothing usable. can someone shed some light on this subject please?
