Afraid to update to 2.8
-
Hi all,
I’ve done so much work on my site that I am afraid to update to WP 2.8. A while back, I suggested there be a push-button immediate site replication tool (set the directory, FTP settings, etc), that could be used to make completely current test environments.
Is there a way for me to do that?
My WP install is in a directory called community.
If I were to just copy everything into a directory called “test,” would I have to do anything else to be able to test the install?
If I’m at the same “directory level” would all of the “pointers” in the code work?Basically, I don’t find it wise to update to 2.8 without doing so in a test environment first.
Suggestions as to how to make one?
Suggestions about update procedures and “best practices” for updating WP?Best,
Dainis
