How do I accomplish this in WP?

I’ve found a script that allows for chat on your site, that I like real well. Not a chat room. It’s more like an IM.) The scrpt generates a link that the user would click on to use that chat program. It works perfectly when I copy the script to a page. I’d like to have it on a sidebar. Can I even get this to work on my sidebar?
