ok when I installed WP it defaulted to the /wordpress directory, so I just duplicated it for root. Wasn’t a problem aside from a few small fixes. The biggest hangup has been the admin bar doesn’t show up in the root site, but does in the /WP site.

The second problem, just happened recently with our theme. For some reason, the landing page on /wordpress is busted….but every subpage and the root page work fine.

checked for the footer fix, it was kosher on all the theme pages I checked. Any ideas, tips, tricks, or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. It is an adult blog, so if you are sensitive to that type of material, you may not want to check the links. No nudity, but some discussions of explicit topics.

    [no bumping]

It would have been easier to uninstall the wordpress blog at /wordpress and then make a new installation at root level.

    Try this out:-

    1. Go to control panel of the /wordpress blog, and set site URL and WordPress Address URL to http://theswankyblog.com and save it so your existing database points to the new site. When you do this the /wordpress blog will stop working properly so don’t panic.

    2. Install WordPress at root level but tell it to use existing database.

    3. Uninstall WordPress from /wordpress directory.

Let me how that goes. You may want to back up your database and files before trying it out.

I did step 1…and it fixed the rest of the issues. Thanks for that, knew one of you smart people would fix this in an instant.
