Description
Receipt Steward issues a numbered, branded PDF receipt for every completed donation — automatically, from the donation flows you already run:
- GiveWP (free version fully supported, GiveWP 2.x–4.x)
- WooCommerce — mark any product as a donation and completed orders produce receipts
Free features:
- Sequential, audit-friendly receipt numbering (per year, gap-safe)
- Jurisdiction-aware templates: US IRS acknowledgment (Publication 1771 wording, §170(f)(8)) and German Zuwendungsbestätigung (amtliches Muster layout for Geldzuwendungen)
- PDF generated locally on your server — donor data never leaves your site
- Automatic email to the donor with the PDF attached (optional)
- Donor ledger: search, year filter, download, regenerate, CSV export

Where are the PDFs stored?
In a protected folder inside your WordPress uploads directory, on your own server. Nothing is sent to any external service.
What happens to receipts if I delete the plugin?
They are kept. Receipts are your organization’s tax records; uninstalling removes settings only.
Does the German template follow the official Muster?
The layout and wording follow the amtliches Muster for Bestätigung über Geldzuwendungen (§ 10b EStG), including Betrag in Buchstaben and the Haftungshinweis. Before issuing your first receipts, verify your Freistellungsbescheid details in Settings and have your Steuerberater or Finanzamt confirm a sample receipt — you are responsible for the correctness of receipts your organization issues, and official template requirements can change.
