Description
LWN Recipe is a free, lightweight recipe plugin built for one job: getting your recipes to look great on your site and rank well in Google.
Get found in search. Every recipe automatically outputs Recipe schema.org / JSON-LD markup – the structured data Google uses to show rich results like star ratings, cook time, and photos directly in search. No separate SEO plugin, no manual code.
Pick a design, not a page builder. Choose from 5 ready-made recipe page layouts – Card, Editorial, Recipe Card, Split Screen, and Timeline – right from your settings page. Every layout is fully responsive and print-friendly, and you can switch anytime without touching a single template file.
Works the way you already work. Enter recipes through the classic metabox fields or the block editor’s Recipe Meta block – your choice. Recipe pages render correctly on both classic themes and modern block themes (like Twenty Twenty-Five), including your site’s real header and navigation.
No bloat, no upsells. LWN Recipe does one thing well instead of trying to be an all-in-one page builder. It’s free, and it stays out of your way.

FAQ
-
How do I add a recipe?
-
Go to Recipes Add New Recipe in your WordPress admin sidebar. Fill in the title, description, ingredients, steps, and recipe details (prep/cook time, servings, meal type, vegan), then publish.
-
How do I change how my recipe pages look?
-
Go to Recipes Settings and pick a design from the “Recipe Page Style” dropdown. There are 5 to choose from, and you can switch anytime – all your existing recipes update automatically.
-
Will my recipes show up in Google search results with stars and photos?
-
LWN Recipe automatically outputs the Recipe schema.org markup Google looks for. Whether Google actually displays rich results depends on Google’s own indexing and quality guidelines, but the structured data is generated correctly out of the box.
-
Where do I see all my recipes on the frontend?
-
Your recipe archive is available at yourdomain.com/recipe automatically.
-
Does this work with my theme?
-
Yes. LWN Recipe works with both classic PHP-based themes and modern block themes (Full Site Editing), and renders your theme’s actual header and footer either way.
-
Can I use the block editor instead of the classic fields?
-
Yes. The “Recipe Meta” block gives you the same fields (prep/cook time, servings, vegan, meal) with block editor-native controls, including color customization. Use either the classic fields or the block – not both on the same recipe, to avoid conflicting edits.
