Lion Social Share displays “share” buttons for 35+ social networks and bookmarking services. Each button is a plain link to that service’s own public share page, built entirely in the visitor’s browser – the plugin’s PHP code never contacts any of these services itself, and nothing is sent unless a visitor deliberately clicks a button.

When a visitor clicks a share button, their browser is sent to the chosen service’s share page with the current page’s URL and title included in the link’s query string (Pinterest’s button also includes the URL of the post’s featured image, so the destination page can show a preview). This is the same information already publicly visible on the page being shared. No visitor data is collected or transmitted by this plugin itself; the browser navigation happens directly between the visitor and the third-party service they chose to click.

The “Copy Link”, “SMS”, and “Email” buttons do not contact any external service – they copy text locally, or open the visitor’s own device apps (SMS/mail client).

Lion Social Share does not collect, store, or transmit any visitor or site data. Share buttons simply link out to the social network the visitor chooses to click – no tracking scripts, cookies, or analytics are added by this plugin, and the plugin never contacts any external server.
