Fantastic plugin. Support doesn't respond quickly (or sometimes ever). But the plugin works great.

We purchased the pro version of the plugin for a client site about a year ago. We encountered multiple bugs in the plugin and the author was originally responsive. Then we encountered something larger and they went MIA. Never heard from them again so we stopped using the plugin entirely and switched to something else. Yesterday we received an email that our license had been renewed. Prior to this email, we had not received a single notification about an upcoming invoice or renewal. About 1 hour after our card was charged for the renewal, I contacted them to request a refund and they respond that their refund policy is that I only have 14 days AFTER THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE to request a refund. IE, even though I'm requesting a refund of this renewal charge about 1 hour after the charge hit, that's too late. I should have requested the refund within 14 days of the original purchase. This is a blatant money grab for Jon and whomever else is on their team. They will bill you for a renewal without warning you that the renewal is coming, hoping that you won't realize, and will then fall back on their "14 day" policy to refuse you a refund of your renewal fees. In short, ridiculous. Find another plugin with an author with some sort of integrity. Because this one isn't it. Avoid.

I started developing my app with MediaCloud and I was amazed about how great this plugin is built. Not only the UI but also the huge amount of settings which MediaCloud offers is just awesome. They really thought about every single detail and I can only imagine how much effort has been invested in this project. Also, the support was really good and pretty quick helping me get some issues fixed. Once set, MediaCloud works like a charm. Backend and frontend uploads work perfectly. All image dimensions are served in backend and frontend without a single issue. Also, XML uploads with WP All Import work without a single issue. Plus, MediaCloud, BESIDES OF NOT SLOWING DOWN YOUR WP, IT REALLY INCREASES SPEED AND PERFORMANCE! Unfortunately, THE PLUGIN HAS BEEN ABANDONED. This was a big hit for me as 90% of my app is based on media files managing infinite amounts. I was so angry and disappointed as I was only a few weeks away from launching, that I changed my plugin-review from 5 to 1 star. And now, I'm changing it again to 5 stars! There are 2 reasons: 1. I hope that this review reaches MediaCloud 's developer to serve him/them like a small light at the end of the tunnel. I would be the happiest guy in the world if MediaCloud celebrates itss comeback! Reason nr. 2: I've spent one month now testing all existing plugins for offloading media files and there is no single one which could be close by far to MediaCloud. Right now, there are 2 categories of available plugins: In one, there's a plugin whose brand includes the word "brains" and who are trying to take over the whole market for their app. Besides of having a really disgusting name & logo, they are charging such insane amounts of money that you can actually buy a brand new MacBook M3. Also, they're limiting the number of uploads if you prefer to buy a new MacBook instead of paying their fake "lifetime" license which only includes updates during the first year. The second category of available plugins are trying to provide solutions which are simply not working. They are not only slowing down your WP, they ALL are having huge issues with compatibilities and not only that, also images are not served properly braking your frames, slowing down significantly the upload speed and a really laaaaaarge etcetera. Those like me, who understand the huge importance of outsourcing media files to the cloud, can only hope that MediaCloud will get back and continue such an insanely great project. Once people realize, how important serving media files via cloud + CDN actually is, MediaCloud will be the big rockstar on the sky!
