Corlen Virtual Try-On for WooCommerce

Description

Corlen adds a “Try It On” button to your WooCommerce product pages. A shopper uploads (or takes) a photo, picks a size, and sees an AI-generated preview of themselves wearing the product in about 10 to 15 seconds. No app, no account for the shopper, nothing installed on their device.

This plugin requires a free Corlen developer account and API key. Create one at corlen.io/developers – the free trial includes enough generations to test this on your own store before you decide whether to keep it running.

Privacy

The shopper’s photo is sent directly to Corlen’s API as part of the request, processed in memory to generate the preview, and never written to disk anywhere in this plugin. Corlen’s own API does not store the customer photo either – see corlen.io/privacy for the full policy.

Your Corlen API key is stored only in your own WordPress database (under Settings, same as any other WooCommerce extension’s API credentials) and is never sent to the shopper’s browser. The browser only ever talks to your own site’s REST API; your site’s server is the only thing that ever holds the key.

What you configure

  • One API key, entered once under WooCommerce > Settings > Corlen Try-On.
  • Per product: turn try-on on or off, and optionally the garment’s fit region (upper body / lower body / full body) and type (t-shirt, jacket, jeans, etc). If you leave the garment image blank, your product’s existing featured image is used automatically.

FAQ

Does this store my customers’ photos?

No. The photo is used once to generate the preview and is never written to storage by this plugin or by Corlen’s API.

Do I need a Corlen account?

Yes, a free developer account at corlen.io/developers, which includes a trial with a limited number of generations so you can test this on your own store first.

Does this work with any theme?

The button renders wherever WooCommerce’s own woocommerce_after_add_to_cart_button hook fires, which every standard WooCommerce-compatible theme supports.

Changelog

1.3.1

  • Compliance: the settings page no longer registers a filter under WooCommerce’s own “woocommerce_” hook prefix. The settings array is returned directly, which WooCommerce consumes exactly the same way. Addresses WordPress.org plugin review feedback.

1.3.0

  • Fix: the real cause of intermittent “This is taking longer than usual” errors. A generation whose server-side worker was cut short could leave the job stuck reporting “processing” forever, so the widget waited out its full timeout for an answer that was never coming, and the attempt left no trace in your usage log. Generations are now bounded by a deadline that always produces a real result, and any job that still goes unanswered is reported as a genuine failure with its credit returned.
  • Fix: a photo already small enough to skip resizing was uploaded with a filename extension that did not match its real format.
  • Fix: closing the try-on popup (or starting over) while a preview was still generating left the old request running in the background, where it could later reopen the popup or overwrite the new attempt.
  • Fix: the status endpoint read its job id in a way a query string could override.
  • Fix: “Collect shopper emails” was not removed on uninstall.
  • Improved: the accent colour is validated before use, the garment type is validated on save against the same list the dropdown offers, and the plugin’s own homepage link now points to the right page.

1.2.2

  • Fix: “This is taking longer than usual” could show even when generation had already finished successfully in under 30 seconds. Root cause was caching: repeated status-check requests could be served a stale, earlier “still processing” answer instead of the real, current one. The status endpoint now sends explicit no-cache headers, and the widget adds a cache-busting parameter to every poll as a second layer of protection.

1.2.1

  • Improved the shopper result email: real Corlen logo instead of flat gold text, left-aligned layout instead of a centered card, warmer copy, and a “Shop [product]” button linking back to the product page.

1.2.0

  • New: “Collect shopper emails” now actually emails the shopper their try-on photo as an attachment (not just recorded for the merchant). Photo is never stored anywhere – it passes through the one outgoing email only.

1.1.1

  • Fix: the “Collect shopper emails” field submitted as a nested HTML form inside WooCommerce’s own add-to-cart form, which browsers silently ignore, causing the Send button to reload the page instead of saving the email. Rebuilt without a nested form.

1.1.0

  • New: optional shopper email capture after a try-on result, off by default toggle under WooCommerce > Settings > Corlen Try-On > “Collect shopper emails” (on by default). Always opt-in, shown only after a shopper has already seen their result. Captured emails appear under Leads in your Corlen developer dashboard alongside leads from any other Corlen integration.

1.0.0

  • Initial release.
