How It Works

4. Copy your Widget API key from the Agentyme dashboard under Installation → Widget API key.
5. Paste the key into Settings → Agentyme in your WordPress admin.

Key Validation

When you save an API key in Settings → Agentyme, the plugin sends an HTTPS POST request to the Agentyme validation API (https://api.agentyme.com/v1/validate) containing your site’s home URL and the API key. This request is only made by site administrators from the WordPress admin.

Chatbot Widget

When a valid API key is saved, the plugin loads a JavaScript widget file from https://www.agentyme.com/widget.js on every frontend page of your site. This script runs the chat interface and communicates with the Agentyme platform to process visitor conversations.

All conversation data, lead information, and uploaded knowledge base documents are stored and processed on Agentyme’s servers, not on your WordPress site. Agentyme acts solely as a data processor — you, as the site owner, remain the data controller and retain full access to view, export, and delete your data at any time through the Agentyme dashboard.

Agentyme does not sell, share, or disclose your data to any other third party. The only sub-processors used are AWS (cloud infrastructure) and Stripe (payment processing), both contractually bound to protect your data. No analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are used. Visitor contact information collected by the chat agent is controlled by you as the site owner; Agentyme processes it solely on your behalf. You can request deletion of all your data at any time, and it will be permanently removed within 30 days.
