Page Mechanic SEO Toolkit

Description

Page Mechanic SEO Toolkit gives site owners practical control over on-page SEO without a large, all-in-one suite. Manage SEO titles, meta descriptions, page slugs, canonical URLs and robots directives, and control which supported content appears in the WordPress core sitemap.

The plugin also includes a virtual robots.txt editor, basic sitewide SEO checks, duplicate title and description warnings, list filters, Quick Edit fields, a live output checker, and copy-only import tools for supported Yoast SEO and All in One SEO metadata.

Features

  • SEO titles and meta descriptions with character counters.
  • Focus keyphrase, a transparent 100-point on-page checklist and an in-plugin guide explaining every check.
  • Optional slug and canonical URL controls.
  • Index/noindex and follow/nofollow directives.
  • Per-page exclusion from the WordPress core sitemap.
  • Virtual robots.txt editor with a warning when a physical file is detected.
  • Sitewide checks for missing and duplicate metadata.
  • SEO columns, filters and Quick Edit controls for posts and pages.
  • Live output checker for the current site’s published pages.
  • Preview and copy-only import tools for supported Yoast SEO and All in One SEO data.
  • Existing source SEO metadata is left untouched during import.

Page Mechanic SEO Toolkit does not send page content to a third-party SEO or AI service, and it does not include advertising or tracking.

Understanding the page score

The 100-point score is a lightweight checklist of ten automated checks using the focus keyphrase and content saved in WordPress. It awards points for the phrase in the SEO title (15), main heading/title (15), early page content (10), URL slug (10), meta description (10), basic content relevance (15), a relevant subheading (10), at least 300 words (5), an internal link (5), and relevant image alternative text (5). Each check is all-or-nothing.

The score is not a Google ranking score or ranking factor. A score of 100/100 does not guarantee rankings, visibility or traffic. The checklist does not assess content accuracy, usefulness, search intent, competition, backlinks, performance, indexing or positions. Keep the content natural and useful; do not change a good page solely to gain points. The Help & Scoring screen explains the checks and limitations.

Security and privacy

Editable fields and administrative actions use WordPress capability checks, nonces, sanitisation and output escaping. Canonical overrides are restricted to HTTP and HTTPS URLs. The live output checker requests only the current site’s published permalink and requires an authenticated editor capability and a valid AJAX nonce.

SEO metadata is stored in the site’s WordPress database. The plugin does not use a third-party SEO or AI API, advertising, or tracking service. Normal hosting logs may record requests made by the live output checker.

Important notes

The robots.txt editor changes WordPress’s virtual robots.txt output. A physical robots.txt file in the site root will normally take precedence.

Sitemap exclusions apply to the WordPress core XML sitemap. If another SEO plugin replaces it, that plugin may have its own exclusions. Avoid running multiple SEO plugins that output competing titles, descriptions, canonicals or robots directives. Check the live page output after migrating.

Import tools copy supported fields only. Review the preview first, leave overwrite off for a first import, and check important pages before deactivating a previous SEO plugin. Original Yoast SEO and All in One SEO data is not deleted.

FAQ

Is the 100-point score a Google ranking score?

No. It is a checklist based on saved page content. It does not directly measure Google rankings or traffic.

Does it work with third-party sitemaps?

Sitemap exclusions work with the WordPress core sitemap. Other plugins may provide separate sitemap systems.

Will the importer remove my old SEO metadata?

No. It copies supported fields without deleting the original SEO plugin’s data. Existing settings are not overwritten unless you opt in.

Can I edit robots.txt with this plugin?

Yes, if your site uses WordPress’s virtual robots.txt. A physical robots.txt file served by your hosting normally takes precedence.
