Description
Choose the included Studio Camera sample or upload GLB, embedded GLTF or a ZIP with GLTF resources, preview it, save it and copy a shortcode. Visitors see a cover image first by default. A product can optionally start interactive 3D immediately. The sample is an original illustrative model, not a real product offered for sale. Previously saved chair samples retain their original model and cover.
Core features
- A reusable model library with stable shortcode IDs and no plugin-imposed model quota.
- A local original CC0 sample with no required external download.
- GLB and GLTF resource validation before storage; supported GLTF imports are normalized locally into self-contained GLB.
- Generated model covers or media-library posters.
- Touch rotation, zoom controls, keyboard focus and image fallback.
- Poster, background, height and optional automatic rotation.
- Local engine loaded on demand, with optional immediate loading for individual products.
- Existing model3d shortcodes and the legacy Elementor widget retain bounded local-file compatibility.
Pro authoring tools
The separate Pro package adds product assignment in the WooCommerce editor, image/gallery-adjacent model pickers, explicit loading modes, starting camera angles and presets. Pro also adds first, second or last gallery placement and an optional thumbnail 3D label with a chosen color. All product gallery and advanced authoring implementation is absent from Free. Free retains model records and product metadata, but only the separate Pro package renders saved product placements. Pro rendering does not expire with an authoring entitlement. Pro authoring uses Freemius license activation; saved data is retained; the separate Pro package renders product placements.
The initial product integration targets classic WooCommerce galleries. Blocks galleries, Elementor Theme Builder galleries, variation-specific models, AR, material editing and conversion of photographs to 3D are outside this version’s claimed support.
Privacy and local files
The core viewer uses no cloud processing, external fonts or CDN. Optional Freemius services are described below. Models and posters remain on the site. Viewers make same-site model requests after View in 3D or on product page load when the administrator explicitly selects immediate mode. Uploads are public display assets; do not upload confidential files. Legacy remote model URLs are not accepted by the compatibility resolver.
Readable plugin source
The first-party JavaScript and CSS shipped in assets/ (and pro/ in the separate paid package) are the actual human-readable, editable runtime sources. No transpilation, minification, bundler or JavaScript build step is required: edit these files directly. See SOURCE.txt for the source layout and upstream build instructions.
Third-party engine and source
The locally bundled Google model-viewer 4.4.0 uses Apache-2.0, with upstream bundled dependency notices preserved. Source revision: https://github.com/google/model-viewer/tree/adc877c66f97e1498d8b19a8850976aee3d0197f/packages/model-viewer
Build instructions and upstream dependency licenses are documented in assets/vendor/SOURCE.txt. The upstream runtime is unmodified. Unsupported compressed models are rejected so no external decoder downloads are required.
Freemius service
This distribution includes Freemius WordPress SDK 2.13.4 (GPL-3.0-only) for optional account connection, Pro license activation and Pro updates. Free works without an account: choose Skip. Optional usage sharing requires SDK consent. The SDK explains the account and site details shared when connecting; license activation sends the license and installation information required for that service. This plugin does not send article content, 3D model files or WooCommerce order data to Freemius. Free receives executable updates through WordPress.org. Install Pro through the normal WordPress plugin upload workflow and use License & Account inside the plugin.

Installation
- Install this ZIP through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

- Copy the shortcode into a Shortcode block or supported shortcode area.
FAQ
-
Does this turn a product photo into 3D?
-
No. It displays an existing glTF 2.0 model (.glb or .gltf). JPG and PNG are poster images, not 3D geometry. It is not a sequence-of-photos 360 viewer.
-
Which model files can I upload?
-
Self-contained GLB files, embedded GLTF JSON up to 2 MB, or ZIP files with one GLTF and local BIN / PNG / JPEG resources. ZIP import requires PHP ZipArchive; up to 100 entries and 20 MB extracted total are allowed. Stored normalized models are limited to 20 MB, with embedded geometry and PNG/JPEG textures up to 4096 pixels per side. Keep models small for phones. This version rejects external resources, sparse accessors and Draco, Meshopt or KTX2 compression. Hosting upload limits may be lower.
-
Will the model slow down every page?
-
The small viewer loader is enqueued only where a viewer is rendered. The engine and model are requested after View in 3D is selected, unless immediate loading was explicitly selected for that product. Actual performance also depends on geometry, textures, device memory and network speed.
-
What happens if 3D cannot load?
-
The poster remains available with an explanatory message and retry control. Ordinary WooCommerce product images remain stored and available.
-
What happens when I deactivate or change editions?
-
Deactivation leaves model records and files intact. With the plugin inactive, WordPress cannot render its shortcodes. Reactivation restores them. Switching to Free retains shortcode viewers, normal product images and all saved records. Gallery integration and advanced camera presentation require the separately installed Pro package. Their saved settings are preserved for reinstalling Pro; no content is deleted.
-
Are my old files deleted or converted?
-
No. Existing local GLB, simple local GLTF and bounded original-plugin ZIP references are resolved without deleting the originals. Unsafe external resources or unsupported files show a clear message instead. New GLTF imports are normalized to GLB locally; the original upload and model source remain with the owner. No external conversion service is used.
