FAQ

Which currencies are supported?

The plugin supports British Pound (£ GBP), Euro (€ EUR), and US Dollar ($ USD) with full Stripe payment integration and currency symbol configuration in Oscar Disposal -> Settings -> 2. Pricing & Currency.

Do I need an Oscar Dispatch CRM account to use this plugin?

No. The plugin is 100% standalone and works right out of the box on any WordPress site without any external accounts. All bookings and leads are stored safely in your own WordPress database and emailed directly to your company email address. Syncing with Oscar Smart Dispatching (https://oscardispatch.com) is purely optional for fleets that want automated driver scheduling and live GPS dispatching.

How do I change the waste items and prices?

Go to Oscar Disposal -> Settings -> 1. Items & Pricing. You can add unlimited items, organize them under custom categories (e.g. “Sofas”, “Appliances”, “Mattresses”), set individual prices, choose icons, and enable or disable items at any time.

Is email address required from the customer?

Yes. A valid email address is required so the system can automatically send an instant booking confirmation, itemized inventory manifest, and payment receipt to the customer.

How does the 15-Minute Grace Period work for abandoned leads?

When a customer enters their phone number and selects items, the calculator registers a draft quote. The system waits 15 minutes (configurable in settings: 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes). If the customer completes checkout, the timer is cleared and the job is confirmed. If they abandon checkout, Oscar Dispatcher alerts your team with a 1-click WhatsApp button to win back the booking.

Can I take fixed deposits with Stripe?

Yes. In Payment Settings, choose Stripe and select “Charge Fixed Deposit Online”. You can set any deposit amount (e.g. £25.00), and the customer is clearly notified that the remainder is payable to the driver.

Can I hide the “Powered by Oscar” link?

Yes. Under Settings -> 5. Appearance & Branding, you can turn the attribution badge on or off with a single checkbox.

Changelog

1.9.2

  • Tablet & Viewport Protection: Fixed horizontal overflow on tablets in portrait mode (Samsung Galaxy Tab, iPad 768px-820px) where desktop rules applied 860px max-width and 46px side paddings exceeding tablet screen width. Enforced universal max-width: min(100%, 860px), dedicated tablet breakpoints (up to 1024px), zero-width flex containment on the date carousel, and minmax(0, 1fr) grid columns ensuring Step 2 never spills over screen margins on any tablet or phone.
  • Dropdown Footer Consistency: Restored full ‘Continue to Booking ({amount})’ button label across desktop, tablet, and mobile, while keeping ‘Done’ on mobile to guarantee generous space without text truncation.
  • Pricing Calculation: Fixed JavaScript ReferenceError on currency symbol variable when minimum callout fee adjustments applied, ensuring live estimated total updates accurately to the minimum callout fee instead of freezing at £0.
  • Search Input: Shortened mobile placeholder from ‘Search items or click to browse categories…’ to ‘Search items or categories…’ to eliminate final word truncation on compact smartphone screens.
  • Category Alignment: Fixed multi-line category alignment bug where ‘Living Room & Dining Room’ centered wrapped text due to parent theme text-align inheritance. Enforced strict text-align: left and flex expansion across all category rows and drawer elements.
  • Mobile Layout: Strengthened mobile constraints on Step 2 (date strip zero-width flex basis, single-column slot cards across 767px breakpoint, and container overflow isolation) to guarantee perfect fit on all mobile screens.

1.9.1

  • Mobile Responsive: Replaced fragmented mobile media queries with unified @media (max-width: 767px) covering all modern smartphones and phablets. Added inline scoped mobile layout rules directly to widget container to guarantee 100% viewport fit and prevent Step 2 from overflowing.

1.9.0

  • Mobile UX: Fixed horizontal layout blowout on Step 2 caused by date carousel flex min-width overflow. Constrained date carousel with smooth touch scroll.
  • Theme Isolation: Enforced strict left text-alignment and direction across all form labels, schedule headings, and logistics hints to prevent parent theme right-align bleed.
  • Catalog: Allowed item titles in category drawer to wrap naturally without ellipsis truncation, displaying complete names.
  • Dropdown Footer: Streamlined continue button label to ‘Continue ({amount})’ with responsive padding to prevent text truncation on narrow mobile screens.

1.8.9

  • UI: Fixed Contact Our Office email modal visibility bug where display:flex !important forced modal to appear by default on page load and prevented dismissal. Added strict display:none default, is-open toggle, native inline click fallback, and Escape key dismissal.

1.8.8

  • Email: Fixed email address breaking across two lines (e.g. santis.smagars@gma / il.com). Applied strict nowrap, reduced mobile email padding, widened value column from 64% to 72%, and streamlined logistics labels.

1.8.7

  • Pricing: Added explicit ‘Minimum Callout Fee’ line item in email receipts and Step 3 checkout breakdown whenever an order is adjusted to meet the minimum threshold.

1.8.6

  • UI: Strengthened hover styles for WhatsApp and Call Office action buttons to prevent background/text fade.

1.9.8

  • Responsive Alignment: Aligned the main subtotal amount to the top-right of the row while allowing the itemized breakdown list to expand vertically underneath on the left without horizontal wrapping collisions or overflow.

1.9.7
