NPC Conversion Advisor for WooCommerce

Description

Most conversion advice is generic. This plugin looks at your own store and tells you where it is losing buyers, what to change, and what that change is worth — as a range, with the assumption written next to it.

What it looks at

  • Your funnel: product views, add to cart, cart, checkout and orders, on phones and on computers.
  • Popular products that people view but cannot buy (for example, the most wanted size is sold out).
  • Your free-shipping threshold: orders that land just under it, and whether every page shows the same number.
  • Where shoppers leave, step by step.
  • Your store’s own pages, every night: the home page, the cart, the shipping and returns page, your most viewed product and category pages, and one more product and category page that change every day, so over the weeks every page is checked. On each: is there a delivery and returns line by the buy button, do reviews show, how many photos does the product have, and how much the page weighs (what your theme, plugins and tags add – WordPress’s and WooCommerce’s own files are not counted). And can a shopper see what shipping costs before the checkout: does any product page checked name a shipping cost by the buy button, and does your cart show shipping before an address is typed (it does not when “Hide shipping costs until an address is entered” is on, or with no default customer location).
  • Your checkout settings: guest checkout, how many fields buyers fill in, and quick payment options (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal). When the plugin does not know your payment plugin, it says nothing about quick payment rather than guess.

What it gives you

  • One to three changes a day, ranked by the money at stake in your store.
  • For each: what was found (in your numbers), why it matters, what to do, what it may be worth, and how the result will be measured.
  • Every estimate is a range with its assumption, never a promise.

Privacy

The plugin counts page views and add-to-carts as daily totals on your own site, by device class (phone or computer) and product. It stores nothing personal, sets no cookie, and sends nothing to any other site. Visits by robots and by the shop’s own staff are not counted. Counts older than 90 days are deleted every day.

To find where buyers leave, it reads your WooCommerce orders in place (totals, products, the device type and the source WooCommerce records with each order) and works only with totals: no customer’s name, email, address or IP address is used or copied.

Every night the plugin also asks your own site for about ten of its pages, as a shopper who is not signed in sees them, one a second, each with a time limit, so a page that does not answer never holds up the report. It never asks another site and never follows a redirect to one. It keeps only what its checks need – the product’s own area as bare markup (no text, so no reviewer’s name or words), the text by the buy button, the number of photos and scripts, the page’s size – and replaces it the next night. These requests run no script, so they are not counted as visits. In WooCommerce’s “coming soon” mode nothing is asked.

The diagnosis appears after seven whole days of counting.

Your page (WooCommerce > Conversion Advisor)

  • Where your store stands, from product view to order.
  • What today’s changes could add together: orders, percentage and money a month, as a range, with no buyer counted twice.
  • Today’s one to three changes, each with numbered steps, what to do and what not to do, and two buttons: “I made this change” and “Not for my store”. A change is never shown as new twice; one you have not answered stays under “Still open”.
  • Being measured: after you mark a change as made, orders per 100 product views in the days after it against the 14 days before it. The verdict (helped, did not help, or not clear) comes once, when the 14 days are over, because a difference read every day looks like more than chance far too often. From the first day it says how large a rise those 14 days can show at your store’s numbers, so a small gain that does not show is not read as a failure.
  • Growth so far: only measured results, never estimates.

The page’s fonts and logo are part of the plugin; the page loads nothing from another site. The page mirrors itself when WordPress runs right to left.

The daily email (off until you switch it on)

On days with new changes, today’s cards by email – the same cards as on your page, with the steps, what each may be worth as a range, and a link to the card on your page, where you mark it as made or not for your store. It is sent at most once a day, early in the morning by your store’s clock, by your own site with WordPress’s mail (wp_mail), only to the address you choose (by default the site’s admin email). Switch it on, off or change the address in “Daily email” at the bottom of the page. Every day the plugin also prepares the report in the night, so the page opens at once.

FAQ

Does it slow down my store?

It adds one small counter per page view on product, cart and checkout pages, sent after the page has loaded. Once a night it asks your site for about ten pages, one a second, and stops after 20 seconds at most.

Does it work with page caching?

Yes. The count is sent by a small script after the page loads, so cached pages are counted too, as long as the cache is refreshed at least once a day (the counter carries a security token that WordPress renews daily).

Are the estimates guaranteed?

No. Every figure is an estimate, not a promise or a guarantee. It comes from your store’s own numbers and published benchmarks, and real results depend on many things the plugin cannot control: your traffic and where it comes from, the season, prices and competitors, stock, advertising, and how each change is made. Each change is measured after it goes live, so you see what really happened.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your WordPress database. The nightly check of your pages is your site asking itself for its own pages. The only thing that leaves your site is the daily email, and only if you switch it on: your own site sends it, through its own mail setup, to the address you chose.
