Description
Gazelle Search replaces the default WooCommerce search with instant product search and autocomplete. It works on its own; typo tolerance, synonyms and filters come from the optional Gazelle Cloud connection.
Works out of the box (no account needed):
- Instant search and autocomplete as shoppers type
- Product matching on title and SKU, with optional tags and brands
- Category, tag and brand suggestions in the dropdown and on the results page
- Search bar as a shortcode (
[gazellesearch]), a classic widget or an Elementor widget - Show SKU, stock, ratings, sale badges and an add to cart button in suggestions
- Voice search, a mobile search overlay and color settings
- Optional local search analytics with a date range and CSV export
- Optional Google Analytics “search” events
Optional: Gazelle Cloud (free plan available)
Connect your store under Gazelle Search Gazelle Cloud to get:
- Typo-tolerant search with SKU and variation SKU matching, attributes, synonyms and “did you mean”
- A results page with filters (category, brand, color, size, price, stock, sale) and sorting
- Recommendations (“You may also like” and the
[gazelle_recommendations]shortcode) - Revenue from search: orders are credited to the search that led to them
Typo tolerance is provided by Gazelle Cloud only; the local search matches title and SKU text as typed. Gazelle Cloud is a hosted service. It has a free plan; paid plans with higher limits are available on gazellesearch.com. Nothing is sent to Gazelle Cloud until you connect it (see External services below). If the service can’t be reached, the plugin’s local search keeps working.
External services
This plugin can connect to the following services. None of them is used unless you turn it on.
Gazelle Cloud (api.gazellesearch.com) — the optional hosted search service from the plugin’s author. It is only used after you enable it and enter your API keys under Gazelle Search Gazelle Cloud.
- What is sent: your published products (title, description, SKU, price, stock, categories, tags, attributes, custom fields, images and URLs), your search settings (stop words, synonyms, typo tolerance) and your store name and URL. Shoppers’ search terms, clicks and add-to-cart events are sent from their browser so results and analytics can be shown. For orders that followed a search, the order number, total, currency, product IDs and an anonymous session ID are sent. No customer names, email addresses or addresses are sent.
- When: products are synced when you connect, when a product is saved, trashed or restored, and once a day. Search requests happen while shoppers type.
- The storefront search widget script is loaded from api.gazellesearch.com while Gazelle Cloud is connected.
- Terms of Service · Privacy Policy
Google Analytics (optional) — if you turn on search events, the visitor’s browser sends “search” events to Google according to your own GA / Google Tag Manager / gtag setup, or loads gtag with the measurement ID you enter.

FAQ
-
Does this plugin require WooCommerce?
-
Yes. WooCommerce must be active.
-
Does the plugin connect to external services?
-
Not by default. Local search runs entirely on your own site. Data is only sent to an outside service if you choose to connect Gazelle Cloud, or turn on Google Analytics events. Each is described under External services.
-
Does this plugin lock features behind a license or trial?
-
No. All features that run in the plugin itself work without a license key. Paid plans only raise the limits and features of the optional Gazelle Cloud service, which runs on Gazelle’s servers.
-
Keyword banners are a Gazelle Cloud feature, managed from your Gazelle dashboard. The plugin itself does not display banners.
