Description
EasyLPD Cookie Banner brings EasyCookie, the cookie banner of EasyLPD, to WordPress. It is made in Switzerland. It is set up on easycookie.ch: the scan of the site, the way of asking (inform with a way to refuse, consent, explicit consent, and a stricter way for visitors from the EU, the EEA and the United Kingdom), the look and the languages (Italian, German, French, English). This plugin puts the site’s banner first in the head of every page, where it must be to hold back the services that load after it.
- Known services (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, YouTube, Vimeo and others) wait for the visitor’s choice by themselves.

EasyCookie helps a site meet what the Swiss FADP and the GDPR ask of cookies; no plugin or service can guarantee compliance by itself, and the site owner remains responsible for what the site does and says. The ways of asking it suggests are guidance drawn from the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner’s guide on cookies, not legal advice.
An EasyCookie account is needed. The scan of a site is free; a site’s banner is switched on with a subscription (CHF 9 a month or CHF 90 a year per site, VAT included).
External services
This plugin connects the site to EasyCookie, a service of Advisorn GmbH, Chiasso, Switzerland. Without a banner id saved in Settings > EasyLPD Cookie Banner it loads nothing.
- What: the banner’s script,
https://easycookie.ch/b/{your banner id}.js, loaded by the visitor’s browser on every page of the site. - What is sent: like any script on the web, the request carries the visitor’s IP address and browser details to easycookie.ch; they are not stored. When the visitor chooses, the browser sends easycookie.ch a random code, the choices, the banner’s version and the families of browser and system, which are kept for the site owner as a record for 24 months; each banner shown is also counted, per day, without anything about the visitor. The IP address is never kept with the choice.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin.
- On easycookie.ch, add your site, run the scan and open “Install and switch on”.
- Copy the line or the id of the banner, paste it in Settings > EasyLPD Cookie Banner and save.

Do I still need to mark my scripts by hand?

Known services are held back by themselves. A script written in the page may still be downloaded by the browser before the banner holds it (it does not run); to make sure a service is not contacted before the choice, give its tag
type="text/plain" data-easycookie="statistics"(ormarketing,preferences). -
Exclude easycookie.ch from combining, deferring and delaying scripts. The plugin already asks WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache and Cloudflare Rocket Loader to leave its script alone.

In your EasyCookie account, on the page of your site: the register with the figures and a CSV export.
