Ondavilo

Description

Ondavilo is a free visual studio with a French interface for the WordPress block editor. It generates shapes in the browser and renders them publicly through WordPress, without a paid API, tokens, an Ondavilo account or telemetry.

  • Dividers: five families (triangles, steps, diagonals, curves and waves), reproducible variations, two colors, one to three layers and three responsive heights.
  • Backgrounds and patterns: CSS gradients, dots, grids and stripes.
  • Optional gentle motion that respects the browser’s reduced-motion preference.
  • Ten free compositions: six dividers and four backgrounds, grouped by use (Home, Portfolio, Blog and Project). Nine models appear initially; a button reveals all ten.
  • Two native blocks: SVG Divider and Background and Pattern. The latter stores a native Gutenberg container with nested content blocks and has no PHP render callback. Their labels are displayed in French in the interface.
  • Local analysis of a page’s solid backgrounds, with temporary previews and insertion after confirmation where the block structure allows it.
  • My Styles: save, apply, rename, export, import, delete and undo the last deletion.
  • SVG, HTML/CSS and JSON settings exports. The Dividers module also exports a Shopify Liquid section.

All included tools and models work without payment, generation quotas or a time limit. This is the complete free edition, not a trial. An optional commercial add-on, Ondavilo Plus, is planned for separate distribution outside WordPress.org. It would add its own features and resources in the same studio. Plus is not available for purchase yet. This ZIP contains no premium implementation to unlock, payment processing, subscription system or remote code installer.

Studio resources load in the administration area and editor where needed. No public Ondavilo script is required; the blocks output inline SVG and bounded style attributes, with shared stylesheets loaded through WordPress. WordPress 6.6 or later and 64-bit PHP 8.3 or later are required. Native integration targets the block editor; compatibility with third-party page builders is not guaranteed.

Blocks

This plugin provides 2 blocks.

  • Ondavilo — Fond et motif Un fond CSS léger et personnalisable autour de vos blocs de contenu.
  • Ondavilo — Séparation SVG Une transition SVG légère, générée localement entre deux sections.

  4. Check the integration on a copy of your site before first using it in production.

FAQ

What changes for backgrounds created before 0.5.6?

Existing children-only background blocks continue to render their decoration through a read-only compatibility adapter. Their saved post content is not changed automatically. The editor recognizes the older save format; saving the page adopts the native container while preserving child blocks and settings. The adapter adds only bounded, escaped wrapper attributes before WordPress renders the children normally.

What can I use for free?

The five divider families, four background styles, colors, variations, optional motion, ten compositions, analysis, exports and personal library. No included feature requires a purchase. The Plus collection is being prepared. Purchases are currently unavailable.

Is there a paid edition?

An optional Ondavilo Plus add-on is planned and would be sold separately outside WordPress.org. The free plugin is useful on its own and will not require Plus to use the features included here. Plus would add its own code and resources to the same studio. At present, Plus, checkout and commercial licensing are not provided. The free plugin does not download or install premium code. The development source archive is a maintenance backup, not a Pro edition.

How do I analyze a page?

In the editor, open Page > Ondavilo color analysis > Analyze this page. In the studio, select a published page from the same site. Interface labels are in French. Analysis reads rendered solid backgrounds, suggests transitions in context and waits for your confirmation. It skips images and gradients and does not crawl the entire site. Some structures require manual placement.

Where are my styles stored?

Save This Style adds the current settings to My Styles. In WordPress, the library belongs to the signed-in account on the current site and is stored in the sflo_saved_styles user metadata. The standalone studio uses browser storage. No styles are sent to Ondavilo. Names must contain 1 to 60 characters. Imported files and the stored library are each bounded to 64 KiB for resource safety, with validation of their structure and settings. There is no fixed style-count quota or paid increase to these safety bounds.

Can I transfer my styles?

Yes. Export one style or the library, then import the JSON in another compatible studio. Import adds copies without overwriting existing styles. Legacy settings exports from versions 0.1 to 0.4 and style files from version 0.5 are supported. Invalid or oversized files are rejected before addition. Page text and content blocks are not included in the JSON.

How do I replace an earlier SectionFlow development version?

Back up the site and export your styles. Deactivate SectionFlow before installing and activating Ondavilo; never activate both together. The old folder and new ondavilo folder are separate plugins to WordPress. Existing block identifiers, the sflo_saved_styles user metadata and the standalone browser storage key are retained for compatibility. Old SectionFlow JSON files remain importable. After checking your content and styles in Ondavilo, you can remove the inactive old plugin. No automatic data deletion occurs.

What happens when I deactivate or uninstall the plugin?

Posts, block attributes and personal styles are preserved. Deactivation hides dynamic dividers and removes background decoration; content nested in the Background and Pattern block remains readable. Reactivation restores rendering. To remove personal styles, delete them in My Styles before uninstalling. No automatic deletion or custom database table is added. Back up your site before updating.

Does the plugin upload SVG files?

No. It generates its own SVG from bounded settings and does not enable arbitrary SVG uploads to the media library.

Is this a Shopify or Wix app?

No. This ZIP installs in WordPress. Exports can be used elsewhere where the destination and permissions allow SVG, HTML or CSS. The Shopify Liquid section is an export from the Dividers module, checked locally but not installed in a real Shopify store. No native Shopify App Store or Wix app is provided.

Where can I report a problem?

After approval and publication on WordPress.org, use the support forum associated with the plugin listing. Include your WordPress and PHP versions, theme, browser and steps to reproduce the problem. Do not post credentials, passwords or private data.

Changelog

0.5.6

Exclude development-only build tools from the installable distribution. Runtime functionality is unchanged.

0.5.6

Save backgrounds as native Gutenberg InnerBlocks containers with escaped React properties and bounded decorative CSS variables. Remove the parent PHP render callback. Preserve old children-only background blocks with a read-only parsed-data compatibility adapter and an editor deprecation. Native child block rendering is preserved without globally filtering its generated HTML.

0.5.4

Use registered WordPress stylesheets for native blocks, editor and studio previews, including reduced-motion animations. Preserve already-rendered InnerBlocks HTML and document its trust boundary so nested SVG, embeds and form blocks remain intact. Portable HTML/SVG exports remain self-contained.

0.5.3

Clarified the complete free edition and planned, separately distributed commercial add-on. Removed the fixed 50-style capacity quota. File size, canonical library size and settings validation remain bounded for resource safety, with existing data preserved on rejected writes.

0.5.2

Renamed to Ondavilo. Plugin folder, main file, administration labels and exports use the new name. Existing block identifiers and saved style storage are preserved. New style exports use Ondavilo identifiers; earlier SectionFlow exports remain importable. The Studio 0.5 design and free functionality are preserved.

0.5.1

Free package intended for WordPress.org submission. Ten free compositions, use-based filters and a personal style library. Plus compositions and simulated payment offers have been removed from the free package; only a notice about their preparation remains. The Studio 0.5 design is preserved.

0.5.0

Development version: use-based catalogue and personal style library with storage per WordPress account, JSON import/export and undoable deletion.
