Rannx Job

Description

Rannx Job turns a WordPress site into a careers site with a built-in applicant tracking system (ATS). Everything is included in this one plugin; there are no paid add-ons, license keys or external accounts.

Jobs and careers pages

  • Job post type with categories, locations and job types.
  • [rannx_jobs] shortcode with keyword, category, location and type filters, pagination and result-count announcements for screen readers.
  • Filled and expired positions are hidden from listings and stop accepting applications.
  • JobPosting structured data for open positions.
  • Counts and term lists via [rannx_job_count] and [rannx_job_specs].

Applications

  • Configurable application form (form builder or per-job JSON schema) with conditional fields, privacy consent, duplicate prevention and per-job application limits.
  • Resume upload (PDF, DOC, DOCX) with size limit, content-signature check and random file names. Resumes are stored in a private folder and delivered only to authorized users.

Looks

  • Modern, responsive, accessible public pages. Choose your brand colour, accent colour, button style, corner radius and layout under Rannx Job Settings Appearance; typography follows your theme.

ATS pipeline

  • Statuses, ratings, read/unread, private notes, activity timeline, bulk actions and print view.
  • Filters, saved filter presets and CSV / XLSX export, including background exports for large data sets (CSV formula-injection protection included).

Interviews

  • Schedule interviews with panelists, structured evaluations and a calendar view.

Job alerts and email

  • [rannx_job_alerts] subscription form (honeypot and rate limit), daily alerts, one-click unsubscribe and an email log.

Team access

  • Recruiter, Hiring Manager and Interviewer roles plus optional job, department and location scopes.

Privacy

  • WordPress personal-data exporter and eraser, configurable retention and an option to delete all data on uninstall (off by default).

Operational notes

  • Scheduled work (alerts, reminders, retention, exports) uses WP-Cron, which runs when the site receives visits. For precise timing use a real server cron calling wp-cron.php.
  • A successful wp_mail() call does not guarantee inbox delivery. Use a reliable mail transport (SMTP/API plugin).
  • Resumes and background export files are stored in a private folder outside the public web root (next to your WordPress folder), so they cannot be reached by URL on any web server, and they are only served through authenticated requests. If no writable folder outside the web root exists, resumes are stored encrypted and background exports use the server’s temporary folder. To choose the folder yourself, define RANNX_JOB_PRIVATE_DIR in wp-config.php with the path of a writable folder outside the web root.
  • Users with the Interviewer or Recruiter role can see every job’s applications unless a job/department/location scope is configured for them in Rannx Job Team Access.
  • Site owners are responsible for the privacy notice, retention period and legal basis they use for candidate data.

FAQ

Where can I get help or report a problem?

Use the plugin’s support forum on WordPress.org, or visit rannlab.com.

Does it need any paid add-on or account?

No. All features are included.

Where are resumes stored?

In a private rannx-job-private-… folder outside the public web root, with random file names (or, only when no such folder is writable, encrypted inside wp-content/uploads/). They are never linked publicly; recruiters download them through an authorized admin request.

What happens to candidate data when I delete the plugin?

Nothing is deleted unless you enable “Permanently delete all data” in Rannx Job Settings before uninstalling.

Changelog

6.23.0

  • Fix: administrators and the bundled roles now receive the capabilities needed to create and edit jobs (existing sites are upgraded automatically).
  • Fix: background exports could never be queued on a fresh install.
  • Fix: PHP 8 fatal error while creating the private resume folder.
  • Fix: filled or expired jobs no longer accept applications, are hidden from listings and omit structured data.
  • Security: interviews, evaluations, calendar, dashboard widget and analytics now respect job/department/location scopes; interview and evaluation actions verify access to the application.
  • Security: JSON-LD output is encoded so job content cannot close the script tag; job-alert form has a honeypot and rate limit.
  • Add: job listing filters (category, location, type), pagination, allow-listed ordering and excluded jobs.
  • Add: uninstall routine with optional data deletion; scheduled events are cleared on deactivation.
  • Remove: unused reCAPTCHA settings (no external service is used).
  • Dev: WordPress coding standards (phpcs.xml.dist), translator comments, escaping and sanitization review.

6.22.0 and earlier

  • Export queue, audit log, scope snapshots, retry/recovery, retention and checkpoint hardening. See the plugin repository history for details.
