ToR Studio Agent Readiness Scanner

Description

80 live checks across 8 groups, plus a full fingerprint of what your site is built on. Every point traceable, every failure paired with a fix. Free to scan, right inside wp-admin, with no API key required.

AI Readiness Scanner is not only an AI checker. One scan covers your whole site health:

  • AI Discovery – can AI systems find and understand your site? llms.txt, sitemaps, structured data, meta tags, canonical URLs.
  • AI Pipeline Visibility – do AI data pipelines actually carry your pages? Crawl captures, AI-crawler access, answer-ready schema.
  • Agent Protocols – can agents act on your site, not just read it? MCP endpoints, agents.json, OpenAPI, plugin manifests.
  • DNS & Identity – is your domain reachable, valid, and trustworthy? HTTPS, certificates, HSTS, mail authentication.
  • Security – are your responses hardened? Content-Security-Policy, clickjacking protection, MIME handling, cookies, mixed content.
  • Performance – does it load fast on real mobile connections? PageSpeed metrics, LCP, CLS, blocking time, compression, caching.
  • SEO & Content – can search engines index it, and is the content real? Titles, headings, alt text, broken links, quotable structure.
  • Accessibility – can everyone use it, including assistive tech? Language, labels, landmarks, link text.

Plus the “Built on” fingerprint: a full breakdown of what your site is built on, from the same scan.

This plugin (free, fully functional):

  • Run scans from wp-admin with no API key required – free scans work exactly like the website scan
  • Score ring, 8 group breakdowns, per-check evidence table
  • AI verdict with top fixes, each with copy-paste-ready fix blocks
  • “Built on” technology stack section, powered by the scanner’s stack lookup
  • Score history (last 10 scans, stored locally)

AI Readiness Scanner Pro (separate plugin, sold on torstudio.dev):

  • One-click Apply fixes — Pro does the fixing, not just the finding: writes llms.txt, sitemap-llms.xml, agents.json, .well-known agent manifests, merges robots.txt AI-crawler rules, and injects JSON-LD / meta / canonical / Open Graph tags, so fixes land instead of sitting in a list
  • Weekly scheduled scans with score-trend dashboard — your score tracked every week, so you see movement, not just a moment
  • Change detection — alerts when a plugin/theme update drops your score, so you catch it before it costs you
  • Email reports (HTML + JSON attachments) — reports you can forward to clients or your team

The plugin detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress, and All in One SEO, and defers canonical, Open Graph, meta description, JSON-LD, and sitemap output to them — it never duplicates markup your SEO plugin already handles.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin files to /wp-content/plugins/tor-studio-agent-readiness-scanner, or install through the WordPress plugins screen.
  2. Activate the plugin.
  3. Go to AI Readiness Scan and click Run scan. No API key is needed for free scans.
  4. Optional: if you have a per-site key, add it under AI Readiness Settings for your keyed daily quota. Pro features require a key.

FAQ

Do I need an API key?

No, not for free scans. Free scans run without one, exactly like the scan on torstudio.dev. If you have a per-site key, adding it under AI Readiness Settings switches your scans to the keyed endpoint with its daily quota. Pro features require a key.

Does this plugin “phone home”?

Yes, and here’s exactly what it sends: free scans POST your site URL to https://torstudio.dev/api/scan with no key. If you have added a key, scans POST to https://torstudio.dev/api/v1/scan with your API key as a Bearer token instead. The “Built on” section POSTs the scanned URL to https://torstudio.dev/api/v1/stack/lookup (no key needed). No other data leaves your site. You can change the API base URL on the Settings page.

How do I get Pro features?

Pro is a separate plugin — AI Readiness Scanner Pro — sold on torstudio.dev. Install it alongside this one; it extends the scan UI with one-click Apply, weekly scans, change alerts, and email reports. Nothing in this free plugin is locked or restricted.

Will it conflict with my SEO plugin?

No. The plugin detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress, and All in One SEO on activation and defers to them wherever they already output canonical tags, Open Graph tags, meta descriptions, JSON-LD, or sitemaps.

What does one-click Apply change on my site?

That’s a Pro-plugin feature: only after you preview the exact change and confirm. Depending on the fix: writes files like llms.txt to your site root (via WP_Filesystem, which may ask for FTP credentials), merges rules into the virtual robots.txt (no file written), or prints markup into <head> via wp_head. Every apply is recorded in the Apply log with what was written and where.

Changelog

1.2.4

  • Raised the scan request timeout to 180 seconds (from 75 for free scans and 90 for keyed scans). Full scans return nothing until they complete, and larger sites take over a minute: eectoronto.org measured ~74s, so free scans were being cut off just before finishing.
  • Scan page now shows a scanning status while a full scan runs, instead of a dead-looking page, and the pre-scan page states what one scan covers.
  • Pro upsell rewritten around outcomes (Pro does the fixing, not just the finding), and the post-scan upsell now names your fresh score. Listing Pro section rewritten the same way.

1.2.3

  • Free scans no longer require an API key: they run keyless through the public website scan, with the same results. A configured key still switches to the keyed endpoint with its daily quota.
  • After a free scan completes, the scan page now surfaces the Pro upgrade right under the results (Pro inactive only; the bottom upsell box is hidden on that view so it never shows twice).
  • Listing rewritten to cover the full scope: AI readiness, SEO, security, performance, build fingerprint, and more across 80 checks in 8 groups.
  • Fixed the scan-page header mark (replaced a corrupt image file) and removed the stale hardcoded check count from the scan page.

1.2.2

  • Renamed to “ToR Studio Agent Readiness Scanner” for the WordPress.org directory: distinctive studio-prefixed name with matching text domain and slug.
  • In-plugin icon renamed from assets/icon-256×256.png to assets/scanline-mark.png (same mark; avoids the directory-asset filename pattern).
  • Contributors corrected and short description shortened to the 150-character directory limit.

1.2.1

  • Plugin renamed to “ToR AI Readiness Scanner” for the WordPress.org directory; check counts updated to the current 75 checks across 8 groups.
  • Scanner home moved to torstudio.dev: the default API base URL, plugin links, and Pro links now point at torstudio.dev. Existing installs are unaffected — your saved API base URL is untouched, and the legacy domain keeps serving the API.

1.2.0

  • Restructure for the WordPress.org Plugin Directory: Pro features (one-click Apply engine, weekly scans, change detection, email reports, white-label) moved to the separate AI Readiness Scanner Pro plugin. This free plugin is now fully functional with nothing locked — it exposes extension hooks Pro uses to add its UI.
  • Settings page simplified: API key + base URL only. License/plan handling moved to Pro.

1.1.0

  • New: “Built on” technology stack section on the scan page — powered by the scanner’s stack lookup, including the deep-scan layers (browser + AI) which run automatically server-side when the fingerprint pass is thin. Deep-scan improvements ship to the plugin with no updates needed.

1.0.0

  • Initial release: connect flow, full 75-check scan UI, AI verdict + copy-paste fixes, score history, SEO-plugin conflict detection.
