Description
Choose photos from your computer, an ordinary photo ZIP, or the WordPress Media Library. Add text, captions and alternative text, arrange your photos and review before creating a draft. You can also append text and a new gallery to an existing editable draft without replacing earlier content.
Advanced prepared packages support JPEG, PNG, WebP and small MP4 files. They are checked against the destination site and file checksums. Package uploads use chunks and import progress is saved on the server. Publish drafts through the WordPress editor; removing a gallery item does not delete its media file.
The simple composer supports up to 20 photos, each <=4 MiB and <=2400 px on the longest side. Ordinary photo ZIPs are <=20 MiB compressed and expanded. MP4 requires a prepared package and is <=4 MiB per file. Lower hosting limits still apply. There is no transcoding, cloud connection, product import or large-video support.
Media files can be accessible through direct URLs while posts are drafts. The selection is stored in the same browser/account using IndexedDB. The plugin does not send media to an external cloud service. This does not certify privacy settings of the surrounding site or its other plugins.
Source code
The complete, editable source is included in this plugin. Files in assets/.js and assets/.css are the original, human-readable JavaScript and CSS served directly by WordPress. They are not compiled, minified or bundled. No npm, webpack, build command or external repository is required to modify or regenerate these files: edit the shipped source files directly. All PHP source is included under includes/ and in the main plugin file.
No third-party JavaScript or CSS library is bundled. The editor uses the WordPress-provided JavaScript APIs, and the photo ZIP builder is original MATUQO source. Original notices and the GPL license are retained in COPYING.txt and NOTICE.txt.
Translations are managed through translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/matuqo-media-importer/ after directory approval. English is the fallback. Lithuanian translations are prepared separately for contribution to that project; this ZIP contains no compiled translation catalogs.

FAQ
-
Does it publish automatically?
-
No. Import creates or appends to drafts. Normal WordPress publishing remains a separate editorial path.
-
Can I import video directly in the photo composer?
-
No. Small MP4 files require prepared packages, up to 4 MiB per asset.
-
Can I edit a saved post?
-
Yes, in the WordPress editor. Gallery removals keep media files in the library.
-
Does Free expire after a trial or number of imports?
-
No trial expiry or import-count payment lock is included. Future Pro functionality is not shipped.
