FloGPT Chat Widget

Description

FloGPT Chat Widget loads the FloGPT chat widget on your WordPress site with a single Widget ID — no code, no configuration files. All styling and behavior (position, colors, greeting, language, branding, workflows, agent routing) live in the FloGPT dashboard, so changes propagate instantly without touching WordPress.

The plugin uses the same dual-bundle loader as the official FloGPT Shopify themes:

  1. Pushes your widgetId onto the global window.chatflow queue.
  2. Loads flogpt-widget-ui.js (UI bundle) from the FloGPT CDN.
  3. Loads flogpt-widget.js (controller bundle) on top.
  4. Dedupes against window.__flogptWidgetLoaded so the widget is never loaded twice if you also paste the embed snippet into your theme.

Features:

  • AI conversations with workflow and tool support
  • Knowledge base / RAG answers from your own content
  • Live agent handoff with rating
  • Multi-language: English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Portuguese, Russian, Urdu
  • WhatsApp and social channel handoff
  • Position, colors, branding all controlled from the FloGPT dashboard
  • Optional self-hosted CDN URL for on-prem deployments

Pricing: Free plan to start; voice agents on paid plans.

External services

This plugin connects your site to FloGPT, a third-party AI customer-engagement service. The plugin is a loader: it does not answer chats itself, so the FloGPT service is required for it to do anything.

What the service is used for

Rendering the chat widget and running the conversation. The plugin injects a small loader script that fetches the widget bundles from the FloGPT CDN, then the widget talks to FloGPT directly from the visitor’s browser.

What is sent, and when

  • On every page view where the widget is enabled, the visitor’s browser requests /widget/flogpt-widget-ui.js and /widget/flogpt-widget.js from the configured CDN origin (https://flogpt.com by default). As with any remote script, this request exposes the visitor’s IP address, user agent, and referring page to the service.
  • Your Widget ID is included so the service can return the correct widget configuration (colors, position, greeting, language, workflows, routing).
  • When a visitor opens the widget and sends a message, the message content and conversation metadata are transmitted to FloGPT so the AI or a live agent can reply. Nothing is sent for visitors who never open the widget beyond the script requests above.

This plugin does not send your WordPress user accounts, post content, or database contents to the service.

Service provider and terms

  • Service: FloGPT — https://flogpt.com
  • Terms of Service: https://flogpt.com/terms
  • Privacy Policy: https://flogpt.com/privacy

Using this plugin requires a FloGPT account. If you self-host the widget bundles, set the CDN URL setting to your own origin; requests then go to that origin instead.

Installation

  1. Upload the flogpt-chat-widget folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install the zip via Plugins Add New Upload Plugin.
  2. Activate the plugin via the Plugins screen.
  3. Go to Settings FloGPT Chat and paste your Widget ID from the FloGPT dashboard.
  4. Save. The widget appears in your site footer on every page.

FAQ

Where do I get a Widget ID?

Sign in at https://flogpt.com, open Chat Widgets, and copy the Widget ID for the widget you want to embed.

How do I customize colors / position / greeting?

All of those are configured in the FloGPT dashboard. The plugin only needs the Widget ID — settings are fetched at runtime, so updates appear on your site immediately without re-saving anything in WordPress.

Can I embed the widget on a specific page only?

Yes. Uncheck Show the widget on every page in Settings FloGPT Chat, then drop [flogpt_chat] into any page or post.

Can I hide the widget for logged-in users?

Yes — Settings FloGPT Chat Hide the widget for logged-in users suppresses the loader for any authenticated session.

Does it work with page builders?

Yes — the [flogpt_chat] shortcode works in any builder that accepts shortcodes (Elementor, Beaver, Bricks, Divi, Gutenberg, etc.).

Can I self-host the widget bundles?

Yes — set CDN URL in settings to the origin that serves /widget/flogpt-widget-ui.js and /widget/flogpt-widget.js.

Changelog

1.3.0

  • Fixed: the [flogpt_chat] shortcode and the sidebar widget rendered nothing when Show the widget on every page was unchecked — which is the documented way to place the widget on selected pages only. That setting now governs automatic injection alone; explicit placements always render.
  • Scripts are registered through wp_enqueue_script() and wp_add_inline_script() instead of a hand-written <script> tag, so caching, concatenation and deferral plugins can see them.
  • Security: the shortcode’s undocumented cdn_url attribute is removed. It flowed into a script src without a protocol check, letting any user who can publish a post load JavaScript from an arbitrary origin. The CDN origin is an administrator setting, and is now restricted to http and https.
  • Tested against WordPress 7.1.

1.2.0

  • Documented the FloGPT external service in readme and on the settings screen: what is sent, when, and links to the terms and privacy policy.
  • Settings can now be saved without a Widget ID, so the widget can be switched off or reconfigured without clearing the form first.

1.1.0

  • Renamed plugin slug, classes, constants, options, and shortcode from uxmessage-* to flogpt-*. The legacy [uxmessage_chat] shortcode is removed; use [flogpt_chat].
  • Loader rewritten to match the FloGPT Shopify theme snippet: dual-bundle (UI + controller), window.chatflow queue, dedupe via window.__flogptWidgetLoaded.
  • Added a configurable CDN URL setting for self-hosted deployments.
  • Added Hide for logged-in users option.
  • Settings page moved under Settings FloGPT Chat with a quick “Settings” link from the Plugins list.
  • Old uxmessage_settings option is cleaned up on uninstall for sites upgrading from 1.0.x.

1.0.1

  • Simplified configuration — only Widget ID required.
  • Widget settings automatically fetched from the FloGPT dashboard.

1.0.0

  • Initial release.
