CraftRoq Forms

Description

CraftRoq Forms is a drag and drop form builder for WordPress in which the free version is the whole builder. All 25 field types, multi-step forms, calculations, order forms, file uploads, entries and SMTP are included, with no limit on the number of forms or entries.

Pick a template or start blank, drag in the fields you need, and add the form to a page with a block or a shortcode. Every submission is saved as an entry and emailed to whoever should see it.

Need online payments, conditional logic or integrations? CraftRoq Forms Pro is an add-on that brings Stripe and PayPal payments, show-and-hide rules, a form styler, webhooks, Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign and Google Sheets to the forms you build here. Everything on this page stays free.

Up and running in three steps

  1. Choose a template (contact, order, survey, quote, job application, registration, newsletter) or start with a blank form.
  2. Drag in fields and set them up in the sidebar, while the preview shows the form as visitors will see it.
  3. Add it to a page with the “CraftRoq Form” block or the form’s shortcode. Entries and emails start arriving straight away.

What you can build

  • Contact forms whose notification replies go straight to the visitor.
  • Order and quote forms with products, quantities, delivery options and a live total.
  • Surveys and feedback forms with star ratings, sliders and choices.
  • Registration forms in several steps, with a progress bar and checks on every step.
  • Job application forms with a CV upload.
  • Newsletter signups with a consent checkbox.

Each of these is a ready-made template, so a working form takes about a minute.

Why CraftRoq Forms

  • Nothing in the builder is held back. Every field type is free, including file upload, signature, repeater, address, products and calculations.
  • Unlimited forms and entries, stored in the plugin’s own database tables on your site.
  • Email that arrives. Send through any SMTP server, with presets for ten providers, a test email and a log of what was sent.
  • Spam blocked with no setup. Every form has a honeypot and a signed submit-time check; a CAPTCHA is one setting away.
  • Totals you can trust. Prices and formulas update live for the visitor, and the server works every number out again before saving.
  • Works with page caching. Forms do not depend on a nonce in the page, so cached pages keep submitting.
  • Built for everyone. Forms submit without a page reload, show errors beside the fields in a way screen readers announce, and still work with JavaScript turned off.

The builder

  • Drag and drop with a live preview of the form as visitors will see it.
  • Undo and redo, inline label editing, duplicate a field or a whole form.
  • Preview at desktop, tablet and phone width.
  • Keyboard shortcuts for the things you do most.
  • Field widths for side-by-side fields, placeholders, default values, descriptions and required fields.
  • Turn a form on or off without removing it from the page.

25 field types, all free

  • Standard: single line text, paragraph text, email, number, dropdown, multiple choice, checkboxes, name, phone, website, date.
  • Advanced: hidden field, consent (GDPR), file upload with drag and drop, star rating, range slider, address, signature, repeater.
  • Pricing and calculations: product, calculation, order total.
  • Layout: section heading, custom HTML, page break.

Repeater fields let visitors add as many rows as they need, such as attendees or gift recipients. Page breaks turn any form into a multi-step form with a progress bar or step titles.

Calculations and order forms

  • Calculation fields with formulas such as {field:3} * {field:4}, brackets, and round(), ceil(), floor(), min(), max(), abs(), sqrt() and pow().
  • Product fields with a fixed price, a quantity, or price options as a dropdown, radio buttons or checkboxes.
  • An order total in your currency that updates as visitors choose.
  • Every result is worked out again on the server, so stored values cannot be changed in the browser.

Product and total fields work without taking payment, which suits quotes, bookings and orders you invoice later.

Entries

  • Every submission is saved and listed with search, unread, starred and trash views.
  • Open an entry to read it in full, star it, mark it unread, print it or move to the next one.
  • Bulk actions and CSV export, with a form’s fields as columns.
  • An unread count in the admin menu, so new entries are not missed.
  • Turn storage off for a form if you only want the email.

Notifications and confirmations

  • Any number of email notifications per form, for example one to you and one to the visitor.
  • Smart tags such as {field:2}, {all_fields}, {form_title} and {user_email} in the recipient, subject and message.
  • Reply-To set to the visitor, so you can answer from your inbox.
  • After submitting: a confirmation message, a redirect to a page, or a redirect to any URL.

Email and SMTP

  • Send form notifications, or every email your site sends, through any SMTP server.
  • Presets for Gmail, Microsoft 365, Yahoo, Zoho, SendGrid, Mailgun, Brevo, Postmark, Amazon SES and MailerSend.
  • The password is stored encrypted, or can be set in wp-config.php.
  • Send a test email and read the server’s replies when something is wrong.
  • A log of the last 50 notifications and whether they were sent.

Spam protection

  • A honeypot field and a signed submit-time check on every form, with nothing to configure.
  • Optional Google reCAPTCHA v2 or v3, hCaptcha or Cloudflare Turnstile, switched on per form.

Privacy

  • Works with WordPress’s personal data export and erase tools.
  • Choose whether to store IP addresses and browser details.
  • Delete entries automatically after a number of days.
  • No outside service is contacted unless you turn one on (see External services below).

Moving and backing up forms

Export forms with their fields and settings as a JSON file and import them on another site.

For developers

  • [crforms id="1"] shortcode, a “CraftRoq Form” block and crforms_render( 1 ).
  • Every colour and size is a CSS custom property, and the plugin’s styles can be turned off.
  • Actions and filters for fields, validation, submissions, notifications and the builder.
  • Register your own field types with crforms_register_fields.
  • Translation ready.

External services

CraftRoq Forms does not contact any outside service by default. The services below are used only if you turn them on in CraftRoq Forms › Settings.

Google reCAPTCHA

Used to block spam when you choose reCAPTCHA v2 or v3 under Spam protection. Pages with a form load Google’s reCAPTCHA script, which collects information about the visitor’s browser and behaviour. When a form is submitted, the visitor’s CAPTCHA response and IP address are sent to Google to check it. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy.

hCaptcha

Used the same way when you choose hCaptcha. Pages with a form load the hCaptcha script, and on submit the CAPTCHA response and the visitor’s IP address are sent to hCaptcha. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Used the same way when you choose Turnstile. Pages with a form load the Turnstile script, and on submit the CAPTCHA response and the visitor’s IP address are sent to Cloudflare. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy.

SMTP email providers

By default WordPress sends email from your own server and no email service is contacted. When you choose “SMTP server” under CraftRoq Forms › Settings › Email & SMTP, the emails your site sends are delivered through the mail server you enter. Each email goes to that server in full: the sender and recipient addresses, the subject, and the message, which for form notifications includes the visitor’s answers and any attached uploads. Your SMTP username and password are sent to the same server to log in. This happens each time an email is sent, and when you send a test email.

The plugin includes the server name, port and encryption of the providers below as presets, to save typing. Nothing is sent to a provider unless you select it, or enter its server yourself, and save your own account details.

If you enter another SMTP server, that provider’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

CraftRoq Forms Pro

CraftRoq Forms Pro turns the forms you build with the free plugin into forms that take payments, adapt to each visitor and feed your other tools. It is a separate add-on: install it next to CraftRoq Forms, and your forms and entries stay exactly where they are.

What Pro adds

  • Online payments. Send the order total to Stripe Checkout or PayPal. The entry is saved first and marked paid only when the payment is confirmed, and notifications wait for the payment, so an unpaid order is never passed on as a finished one.
  • Conditional logic. Show or hide any field based on earlier answers, with “all” or “any” rules. The rules are enforced on the server too, so hidden fields are never required or saved.
  • Scheduling and limits. Open and close a form on set dates, cap the number of entries, or limit a form to logged-in users, each with its own message.
  • Form styler. Set accent, button, field and border colours, corner radius and button alignment per form, plus custom CSS.
  • Webhooks. Send entries to Zapier, Make, n8n or your own endpoint, signed, with a delivery log on each entry.
  • Mailchimp, HubSpot and ActiveCampaign. Add subscribers and create or update contacts, optionally only when a consent box is ticked.
  • Google Sheets. Add every entry as a row in a sheet.
  • More templates. Event registration and customer satisfaction, both built with conditional logic.

What stays free: all 25 field types, multi-step forms, calculations, product and total fields, entries, notifications, SMTP and spam protection. Pro adds to the free plugin; it never takes anything away from it.

FAQ

Is the free version limited?

No. There is no limit on forms, fields or entries, and all 25 field types are included. The paid add-on adds separate features such as conditional logic and online payments.

How do I add a form to a page?

In the block editor, add the “CraftRoq Form” block and choose your form. Anywhere else, including page builders and widgets, paste the form’s shortcode, for example [crforms id="1"]. The shortcode is shown beside each form in the forms list.

Emails are not arriving.

Many hosts block or spam-filter mail sent from PHP. Go to CraftRoq Forms › Settings › Email & SMTP, choose “SMTP server”, pick your provider and send a test email. If it fails, the SMTP conversation shown below the test tells you why.

Can I build a multi-step form?

Yes. Add a Page break field wherever a new step should start, or use the “Multi-step registration” template. Visitors see a progress bar or step titles, and each step is checked before the next one opens.

Can visitors upload files?

Yes. The File upload field accepts drag and drop. You choose the allowed file types and the maximum size per field, and the files can be attached to notification emails.

How do calculations work?

Add a Calculation field and type a formula. Click a field tag below the formula box to insert it. Choice fields count the value of the chosen option, checkboxes add up their checked values, and product fields count their line total (price × quantity).

Can I take payments?

Product and total fields are free and work without payments, for example for quotes and orders you invoice later. CraftRoq Forms Pro sends the order total to Stripe Checkout or PayPal.

Does it work with page caching?

Yes. Forms do not rely on nonces, so cached pages keep working. Spam protection uses a honeypot, a signed time token and an optional CAPTCHA.

Can I style the forms?

Override the CSS custom properties on .crforms-wrap, for example --crforms-primary, --crforms-radius and --crforms-border. Turn off the plugin’s styles in Settings to style forms from your theme.

Can I export my entries?

Yes. Choose a form on the Entries screen and export its entries as a CSV file, with one column per field.

Can I move forms to another site?

Yes. CraftRoq Forms › Import & Export downloads forms with their fields and settings as a JSON file, which you can import on another site. Entries are exported separately as CSV.

Where is my data stored?

In three tables: {prefix}crforms_forms, {prefix}crforms_entries and {prefix}crforms_entrymeta. They are removed on uninstall only if you turn on “Delete all data” in Settings › Privacy & data.
