Description
Pushwoosh for WooCommerce connects your store to Pushwoosh, a customer engagement platform. It sends the shop data that Pushwoosh Customer Journeys need and adds web push to the storefront.
- Customers become email and SMS contacts in Pushwoosh, with first name, last name, marketing consent and any customer fields you map to tags.
- Orders send
PW_OrderCreated,PW_OrderUpdatedandPW_OrderCanceledevents with items, totals and status, so journeys can thank, cross-sell or win back. - Abandoned carts send
PW_AbandonedCartafter a configurable idle time, with a signed link that restores the cart in any browser. - Web push loads the Pushwoosh Web SDK on the storefront with a subscribe bell that works in Chrome, Firefox and Safari, and links subscribers to the customer.
- Marketing consent: an optional checkbox on registration, classic and block checkout; with “Require marketing consent” nothing is sent for customers who did not agree.
- Personal data: WordPress export and erase tools cover the plugin’s data and delete the user in Pushwoosh.
- Historical sync of existing customers and past orders, from the settings page or WP-CLI.
Works with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and the Cart and Checkout blocks. All calls to Pushwoosh run in the background through Action Scheduler and never slow down checkout.
External services
This plugin relies on Pushwoosh, a third-party service operated by Pushwoosh Inc.
- Pushwoosh API (
https://api.pushwoosh.com, or the API URL set in the settings): customer contacts, order and cart events and deletion requests are sent when customers register, update their profile, check out, change orders, abandon carts or are erased via the WordPress privacy tools. - Pushwoosh Web SDK (
https://cdn.pushwoosh.com/webpush/v3/): loaded on every storefront page when web push is enabled; the browser registers for push notifications with Pushwoosh after the visitor allows them.

Privacy
Add the Pushwoosh processing to your store’s privacy policy. The plugin registers WordPress personal data exporters and erasers; erasing a customer also deletes the user and their devices in Pushwoosh. Orders that WooCommerce keeps continue to send order events with their billing email.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin. WooCommerce must be active.
- In the Pushwoosh Control Panel create an application, configure the Web platform for web push, and copy the application code. Create a Device API token for the server and a second one for the storefront (it is public).
- Create the events
PW_OrderCreated,PW_OrderUpdated,PW_OrderCanceled,PW_AbandonedCartandPW_AbandonedCartUpdatewith the attribute types from the documentation, and the tagsfirstName, lastName(string) andacceptsMarketing(integer). - Open WooCommerce Settings Pushwoosh, enter the application code and both tokens, press “Check connection”, then enable the modules you need.
- On low-traffic stores run Action Scheduler from a system cron (
wp cron event run --due-now) so events are sent on time.
FAQ
-
Does the plugin slow down my store?
-
No. Shopper requests only queue an order, cart or customer id; payloads are built and sent by Action Scheduler in the background.
-
Which data is sent to Pushwoosh?
-
Customer email, phone, first and last name, marketing consent, language and the fields you map to tags; order and cart contents and totals; for web push, the subscriber is linked to the customer email. Nothing is sent for customers without consent when “Require marketing consent” is enabled.
-
Some contacts do not appear in Pushwoosh
-
Pushwoosh validates contacts: emails on disposable or invalid domains and phone numbers that are not mobile are rejected. The plugin logs these under WooCommerce Status Logs (source
pushwoosh) and does not retry them. -
Do I need to pay for Pushwoosh?
-
The plugin is free. Pushwoosh is a paid service with a free trial; see pricing.
