Dominant Publisher

Description

Dominant Publisher adds an seo field to every REST-enabled post type (posts, pages and custom post types), so external tools and publishing workflows can read and update SmartCrawl SEO metadata through the standard WordPress REST API.

Fields

  • title – the SEO title (stored in _wds_title)
  • description – the meta description (stored in _wds_metadesc)

Example: update SEO data

POST /wp-json/wp/v2/posts/123

{ "seo": { "title": "My SEO title", "description": "My meta description." } }

Security

  • Updates require the edit_post capability for the target post.
  • All values are sanitized with sanitize_text_field() before saving.

This plugin is not affiliated with or endorsed by WPMU DEV or SmartCrawl. It works with the post meta keys SmartCrawl uses.

Installation

  1. Upload the dominant-publisher folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, or install the zip via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
  3. Read or write the seo field on any REST-enabled post type.

FAQ

Does this require SmartCrawl?

The plugin reads and writes the same post meta SmartCrawl uses, so it is intended for sites running SmartCrawl. Without SmartCrawl the data is still stored but has no effect on your front end.

Which post types are supported?

All post types registered with show_in_rest set to true.
