Description
The MoCRA Compliance Checker helps cosmetics brands understand and track their obligations under the FDA’s Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) — right inside their WordPress dashboard.
Free features:
- Readiness checklist — an interactive, scored questionnaire covering facility registration, product listing, Responsible Person designation, safety substantiation, labeling, adverse event reporting, records, and GMP. Get a 0–100 score with a plain-English list of gaps to close.
- Product compliance tracker — MoCRA fields on every WooCommerce product (INCI ingredients, safety substantiation status, label status, FDA listing status) plus a dashboard showing which SKUs are ready and which need work.
- Label checker guidance — per-product review of required label elements (ingredient declaration, net quantity, business name/address, adverse-event contact info).
- Renewal reminders — facility registration renews every two years; get emailed before it lapses.
- Adverse event log — record events with an automatic 15-business-day FDA reporting countdown.
Built by the team at US MoCRA Agent. This plugin provides organizational tools and general information — it is not legal advice and does not file anything with the FDA on your behalf.

FAQ
-
Does this plugin file anything with the FDA for me?
-
No. FDA submissions (facility registration, product listing) must be made through your own FDA Cosmetics Direct account. The plugin organizes, tracks, reminds, and flags gaps — it does not submit anything.
-
Is this legal advice?
-
No. The plugin provides general information and organizational tools. Consult a qualified regulatory professional or attorney for advice about your specific situation.
-
Do I need WooCommerce?
-
No. The readiness checklist, adverse event log, and renewal reminders work on any WordPress site. The product compliance tracker requires WooCommerce.
-
I’m a foreign brand selling in the US. What do I need?
-
Under MoCRA, foreign facilities and brands need a U.S.-based Responsible Person / U.S. agent. The plugin’s checklist will flag this and point you to our U.S. agent service.

Changelog
1.1.0
- Review fixes: slug shortened to mocra-compliance-checker (WooCommerce trademark), output hardening in two admin helpers, text domain verified matching the slug.
1.0.5
- New: email reminders for serious adverse events — 5, 2, and 0 business days before the 15-day FDA deadline, plus a one-time overdue notice. Reminder state resets whenever the event is saved.
- Improved: admin screens are now mobile-friendly — responsive layout for phones and small tablets (stacked stats, scrollable tables, tighter checklist cards, full-width CTA button on small phones).
1.0.4
- Fixed: the gold “Get a U.S. Agent” button styling now applies everywhere the CTA appears (dashboard, gaps, settings preview), and checklist number circles have a clearer navy tint.
1.0.3
- Styled: admin screens now match the usmocraagent.com theme — navy (#1B3A5C) headers and accents with gold (#C9A227) call-to-action buttons.
1.0.2
- Added: Yoast-style writing aids on the adverse event editor — traffic-light completeness checks that update as you type (title, product, date received, description detail, serious-event FDA reporting), character/word counters, a live preview of the event summary, MoCRA keyword suggestions (symptoms, onset, usage, duration, medical care, outcome) that light up as you cover them, and a one-click FDA report template.
- Fixed: admin assets now also load on the adverse event edit screen.
1.0.1
- Fixed: the adverse-event post type now uses dedicated capabilities (granted to administrators on activation) instead of mapping its capabilities onto manage_options, which broke the admin Settings menu and options pages on some installs.
1.0.0
- Initial release: readiness checklist with 0-100 scoring and actionable gap guidance, WooCommerce product compliance fields and dashboard, adverse event log with 15-business-day FDA reporting countdown, biennial facility-renewal reminders, and configurable U.S. agent call-to-action.
