Description
Name Day Coupons for WooCommerce sends a personalized name day greeting with a fixed cart discount coupon to customers whose first name matches the selected calendar.
The free plugin includes:
- Automatic daily sending at 9:00 in your WordPress time zone.
- Slovak and Czech name day calendars.
- Configurable coupon amount, minimum spend and validity in days.
- One shared coupon per day, with a MENINY- prefix and one use per customer.
- A ready-made email with the customer’s name, coupon code and conditions.
- Manual sending and a test email from WooCommerce > Meniny.
- A daily sending log and a lock to reduce duplicate deliveries.
The plugin is fully functional without a license or time limit. The admin interface is currently in Slovak, with Czech fallbacks for customer-facing email text.
Optional Pro add-on: Free is required
The separately distributed Pro add-on requires this free plugin and WooCommerce to be installed and active. Install and activate Free first, then install Pro. Keep both Free and Pro active together. Pro cannot run on its own.
Pro adds a custom sending time, editable email text, coupon prefix and usage count, and custom CSV calendars. This free plugin works independently without a Pro purchase or license. Use Pro 1.2.2 or newer with Free 1.2.1.
Sending uses WP-Cron. On low-traffic websites, a regular server cron is needed for reliable timing. The actual delivery time also depends on your mail service.
Customer data
The plugin reads customer first names and email addresses from WordPress accounts and WooCommerce billing records, and uses the selected name day calendar to find recipients. Emails are sent through the website’s configured WooCommerce/WordPress mail system. Recipient email addresses are stored in daily sending logs in the site’s own database. The free plugin does not send customer data to MakeMeHappy or use an external licensing service. Store owners are responsible for configuring their sending practices and privacy information appropriately.

Installation
- Install and activate WooCommerce.
- Install and activate Name Day Coupons for WooCommerce.
- Open WooCommerce > Meniny and select the Slovak or Czech calendar.
- Set the coupon amount, minimum spend and validity.
- Send a test email to verify the message and coupon before relying on the daily schedule.
- Optional: to use Pro, install and activate the separately purchased Pro add-on, then activate its license in WooCommerce > Meniny > Prehľad. Keep this Free plugin and WooCommerce active.

Is automatic sending included in the free plugin?

Yes. It is scheduled for 9:00 in the WordPress time zone. No license is required.

Does every customer receive a different coupon?

No. Recipients share one coupon for that day. WooCommerce limits it to one use per customer. It is not restricted to the recipient’s email address.

Are coupon values inclusive of tax?

WooCommerce calculates fixed coupon discounts and taxes using your store settings. If prices are entered excluding tax, the final saving can include a tax reduction. Test the coupon in your own cart, especially when using multiple tax rates.

Can I customize the email or sending time?

The free plugin uses a built-in template and a fixed 9:00 schedule. The separate Pro add-on provides an editor and scheduling controls. Both plugins must remain active when using Pro.

Do I need to keep Free installed when using Pro?

Yes. Pro requires an active installation of Name Day Coupons for WooCommerce (this Free plugin) and WooCommerce. Install Free first, add Pro, and keep both active. A Pro license unlocks features in the separate Pro add-on.

Does a successful test prove that automatic delivery works?

No. It verifies mail generation and handoff to the configured mail system. Also verify that WP-Cron runs and that the message reaches the recipient.
