Description
You already fill in attributes for your products, such as Colour: Red or Material: Cotton. Ecreate Product Tags from Attributes turns those values into product tags automatically, so you do not have to type the same information twice.
Product tags give you tag pages like “Red” or “Cotton”, help customers find related items, and improve the “Related products” section, because WooCommerce picks related products by shared categories and tags.
Example:
- Product: Classic T-Shirt
- Attributes: Colour: Red, Blue. Material: Cotton
- Tags created: Red, Blue, Cotton
Features
- Creates product tags from global attributes (Products > Attributes).
- Also works with custom attributes typed on a single product.
- Choose all attributes, or only the ones that make useful tags, such as Colour and Material but not Size.
- Limit custom attributes to certain names, such as Brand.
- Tag format: value only (“Red”) or value and attribute name (“Red Colour”).
- Option to use only attributes that are visible on the product page.
- Variable products get tags for every value used by their variations.
- Tags you add by hand are never removed.
- When an attribute value is removed, the tag this plugin added for it is removed too. You can turn this off.

Installation
- Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin and search for “Ecreate Product Tags from Attributes”.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- Go to Products > Tags from Attributes, or click the Settings link on the Plugins page.
- Choose which attributes to use and click Save Settings.
- To tag the products you already have, click “Generate tags for all products”.
From now on, tags are added every time a product is saved or imported.
FAQ

No. Tags you added yourself are always kept. The plugin only removes tags it added itself, and only when the attribute value they came from is removed. You can turn that off in the settings.

Which attributes should I use?

Attributes that describe what a product is make good tags, such as colour, material, style or brand. Attributes like size, weight or dimensions usually do not, so leave them out by choosing “Only the attributes selected below”.

Does it work with variable products?

Yes. A variable product gets a tag for each value its variations use. Variations themselves do not have tags in WooCommerce.

Does it work with product imports?

Yes. Tags are added when products are created or updated through the WooCommerce importer, the REST API or other plugins that use WooCommerce’s product functions.

What happens if I change the tag format later?

Run “Generate tags for all products” again. Tags in the old format that this plugin added are replaced with the new format. Tags you added by hand are not touched.

Does it slow down my store?

No. The plugin only runs in the admin area when a product is saved, and when you use the bulk tool. It adds nothing to your store’s front end.

Does it need WooCommerce?

Yes. The plugin works with WooCommerce products and attributes, and shows a notice if WooCommerce is not active.
