Nik Zoroastrian Calendar & Events

Description

Nik Zoroastrian Calendar & Events adds six independent output units. Each is available as a shortcode and as an Elementor widget, and can be enabled or disabled separately:

  1. Today’s Date [gahs_today] – the current weekday and Jalali date with the matching Zoroastrian (Fasli) day name, month and year. Simple and Card templates, optional link.
  2. Upcoming Events [gahs_events] – the next Zoroastrian festivals and Gahanbars plus your own events (soonest N, this week, this month, or next N days).
  3. Month Calendar [gahs_month_calendar] – a full-month grid for the Fasli or Kadmi calendar, browsed in the Gregorian or Jalali calendar. Nabar days, the weekend day, and official and custom events can be shown on the grid (each toggled separately).
  4. Date Converter [gahs_date_converter] – a three-way converter between the Zoroastrian (roj/mah), Jalali and Gregorian calendars.
  5. Month Events List [gahs_month_events] – a browsable month-by-month list of festivals, Gahanbars and your own events.
  6. Upcoming Days Events [gahs_days_events] – the same list for a fixed window of the next N days.

The Zoroastrian date uses the Fasli calendar, which shares the month/day structure of the Iranian Jalali calendar; only the 30 named days and the year offset (Jalali year + 2359 by default, adjustable) differ. Output is available in Persian and English.

Custom events: add your own events (title, date, time, city, location, address, link, tag) from the admin page. They are stored in a dedicated {prefix}gahs_events table.

Caching: pages that show a calendar unit are cached only until the next local midnight when LiteSpeed Cache is active, and its cache is purged when events or settings change.

The front-end JavaScript and CSS in assets/ are minified. Their human-readable sources are included in the plugin package:

  • assets/js/zc-calendar.src.js – source of assets/js/zc-calendar.js
  • assets/css/zc-frontend.src.css – source of assets/css/zc-frontend.css (the per-unit stylesheets are slices of the same source)

Rebuild the JavaScript with Terser (https://github.com/terser/terser): npx terser assets/js/zc-calendar.src.js --compress --mangle --comments false -o assets/js/zc-calendar.js. The admin files assets/js/zc-admin.js and assets/css/zc-admin.css are not minified.

Bundled third-party asset: the Vazirmatn font (assets/fonts/Vazirmatn-Variable.woff2), version 33.0.3, SIL Open Font License 1.1 – https://github.com/rastikerdar/vazirmatn (license in assets/fonts/OFL.txt). It is loaded only when the “Admin Font” option is enabled (off by default).
