Saeed Live Translate

Description

Saeed Live Translate adds a live editing workflow for sites using qTranslate-XT. Authorized editors can turn on Translate mode, click visible text, edit every enabled language, and save the translation where the text is stored. Text that is not stored as editable content can be saved as a site-wide translation.

How it works

1. Activate qTranslate-XT with two or more enabled languages, then activate this plugin.
2. Click “Translate” in the WordPress admin bar (or the floating button when the admin bar is hidden).
3. Hover over text to highlight it and click to open the editor. Hold Ctrl/Cmd to follow a link normally.
4. Edit the enabled languages and press Save (Ctrl + Enter).

The plugin can resolve and edit:
* post and page titles and excerpts
* custom fields, including supported serialized values
* site options and supported option values
* categories, tags and other terms through qTranslate-XT term data
* site-wide dictionary entries for text that is not stored as editable content

Nothing is written without a fresh resolver check. The stored value must still match the text that was selected, and the current user must have the required capability for the target.

Permissions

• saeedlt_capability (default edit_others_posts): controls who can use Translate mode.
• saeedlt_dictionary_capability (default manage_options): controls who can save site-wide translations.

Hooks

• saeedlt_current_language: override the language considered current for the page.
• saeedlt_strings: customize the popup interface strings.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or later.
• PHP 7.4 or later.
• qTranslate-XT with at least two enabled languages.
