Description
Precise Expressions Product Customiser 3D Lite gives merchants a complete free workflow for cylindrical product personalisation, without needing special model preparation.
Lite includes:
- Cylindrical 3D product customiser with a single customisation area.
- Live 3D preview on the product page with text and image editing.
- Move, resize, rotate, delete and clear controls.
- Model analysis in the product editor: Lite loads the GLB/GLTF in the browser and reports what the model already contains (objects, meshes, materials, UV availability, prepared areas and markers). The analysis runs only in your browser, saves nothing, and changes no settings.
- Visual wrap surface selection: pick the cylindrical wrap surface by clicking the model instead of renaming a material in a 3D application.
- Merchant-configurable initial 3D view: rotate and zoom the preview, then save that view as the starting view customers see.
- WooCommerce cart, checkout and order persistence: the customer customisation, and the surface it belongs to, travels with the cart item into the order and can be reviewed on the order admin screen.
- Product-level enable/disable and model setup.
Ordinary regular cylindrical GLB/GLTF models can be configured entirely in WordPress. Blender, or any other 3D tool, is not required for the standard cylindrical workflow.
Prepared models (optional)
Lite also understands optional prepared conventions for models that already use them:
Engrave_Wrapmarks the material that should receive the cylindrical artwork. When present it always takes precedence over a surface selected in WordPress.SEC3D_DefaultFace,SEC3D_EyeandSEC3D_LookAtdescribe the model default facing plus the eye/look-at points used to derive the starting camera.SEC3D_DecalTop,SEC3D_DecalBottom,SEC3D_DecalLeftandSEC3D_DecalRightdescribe decal placement helpers.
These names are an optional advanced/compatibility path. They are never required for the normal cylindrical workflow, and Lite works with unprepared models.
Upgrading to Pro
Precise Expressions Product Customiser 3D Pro is an add-on for this plugin. It adds planar and UV / odd-shape customisation when a valid Pro licence is active. Lite stays installed and active alongside Pro; Pro does not replace it. Models prepared with Engrave_* (planar) and Engrave_UV_* (UV zones) keep working, and Pro can also target a surface selected visually in WordPress.
While the Pro licence is inactive, Pro projection configuration already stored on a product is preserved and stays read-only, and the Lite cylindrical flow is unaffected.
Third-party libraries and source
The WordPress.org package contains an unminified local Three.js compatibility bundle, its licence, and concise provenance documentation. It does not contain the development source map, build configuration, package manifest, or upstream npm archive; Lite loads no runtime plugin assets, including fonts, remotely.
Bundled fonts
- Montserrat Regular, Playfair Display Regular and Great Vibes Regular are bundled locally for the storefront and order viewer.
- Licence: SIL Open Font License 1.1. The corresponding licence texts are in assets/fonts/licenses/.
- Earlier saved font-family values remain valid. EB Garamond, Cinzel and Lora use the bundled Playfair Display fallback; Alex Brush and Patrick Hand use Great Vibes; Fredoka uses Montserrat. Saved Fabric JSON and order metadata are not rewritten.

FAQ
-
What can Lite customise?
-
Lite renders cylindrical (wrap-around) customisation with a single customisation area. That is the free runtime feature.
-
Does Lite need a model prepared in Blender?
-
No. Ordinary cylindrical models can be used as they are: analyse the model in the product editor, click the surface you want the artwork to wrap around, and save. Naming a material
Engrave_Wrapin a 3D tool remains supported for models that already follow that convention, but it is optional. -
Does Lite support planar or odd-shape products?
-
The Lite runtime customises cylindrical products only, so planar and UV / odd-shape customisation require an active Pro licence. When Pro is installed, the model analysis still reports whether a model looks prepared for planar or UV customisation, and any Pro configuration already saved on a product is preserved. It simply stays unavailable until the Pro licence is active. Lite is not able to switch those modes on by itself.
-
Why does the model analysis mention modes that cannot be selected?
-
The analysis reports what the model already contains, including regions only Pro can use. Pro projection modes appear in the product editor as unavailable while the Pro licence is inactive.
-
Does the analysis change my product?
-
No. The analysis runs in your browser tab only. It does not save settings, does not upload anything, and does not alter the model.
-
Is a license key required for Lite?
-
No. The Lite plugin has no license activation workflow.
-
Where are customer customisations stored?
-
The customisation is kept with the WooCommerce cart item, stored on the order line item, and rendered again on the order admin screen for fulfilment.

Changelog
1.1.0
- Model analysis in the product editor: inspect the GLB/GLTF in the browser (objects, meshes, materials, UV availability and prepared conventions). Nothing is saved.
- Choose the surface to customise without Blender naming conventions: select the mesh to use for cylindrical wrap visually on the loaded model (planar and UV surface selection supported when Pro is active).
- Configurable initial 3D product view, saved with the product and applied on the storefront.
- Prepared conventions (Engrave_*, Engrave_Wrap, Engrave_UV_*, SEC3D markers) remain supported and take precedence when present.
- Cart, order and fulfilment support for merchant-selected surfaces: the selection is recorded at purchase time, so later product edits do not change an existing order.
- Order management screens show readable surface names and replay the saved artwork, and remain HPOS (custom order tables) compatible.
- Fixed: the projection mode recorded on the order line item now follows the product configuration.
- File handling: order artwork is limited to the WordPress uploads folder, restricted to supported image/JSON types, and path traversal is rejected.
- Compatibility metadata and merchant-facing guidance updated for the current workflow. Pro remains an optional add-on built on this plugin.
1.0.0
- Initial Lite release.
- Cylindrical single-area customiser workflow.
- Non-intrusive upgrade path to Pro.
