Praising collects your reviews and shows them on your website in a widget you design once in your Praising dashboard: a carousel, a grid, a wall of reviews or a compact rating badge, in light or dark, filtered to the ratings you choose.
This plugin puts that widget on your WordPress site. Paste your widget’s install snippet into Settings Praising, switch it on, then place it anywhere:
- Block editor: add the “Praising Reviews” block.
- Classic editor, widget areas and page builders: use the shortcode
[praising_reviews]. - More than one widget: give a placement its own ID —
[praising_reviews id="your-widget-id"], or set it in the block’s settings.
The widget keeps itself up to date: new reviews appear on your site as Praising collects them, with nothing to re-publish. It sizes itself to its content and works with any theme, because it is drawn inside its own frame and never restyles your pages.
What you need
A Praising account. The Forever Free plan needs no card: connect your Google Business Profile and your reviews come in automatically. Widgets on the free plan show a small “Powered by Praising” link, which the Pro plan can switch off. Praising can also import reviews from Trustpilot and Tripadvisor.
External services
This plugin shows a reviews widget hosted by Praising (https://praising.ai), a review-management service. It is required: the widget, and the reviews in it, come from your Praising account.
Nothing is loaded from Praising until you enter a widget ID and tick “Show on my site” in Settings Praising. The block editor shows a placeholder, never the live widget, so writing posts never contacts Praising either.
Once it is switched on, each page that contains the block or shortcode loads the widget in a frame from https://app.praising.ai/embed/w/<your widget ID>:
- What the visitor’s browser sends: a normal page request for that address — the widget ID in the address, plus what every browser sends with any request (IP address, user agent, language). The plugin adds nothing about the visitor or about your WordPress users.
- What comes back: your widget, showing your reviews and the reviewers’ public names and photos. Reviewers’ profile photos are loaded from Google’s image servers (
lh3.googleusercontent.com), the same way they appear on Google. - Nothing else: the widget page sets no cookies, Praising’s analytics are switched off inside it, and the plugin itself writes nothing to your visitors’ browsers.
The plugin itself stores one option (your widget ID and the on/off switch), and removes it when the plugin is deleted.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin.
- In your Praising dashboard, open Visibility Widgets, design a widget and copy its install snippet.
- In WordPress, open Settings Praising, paste the snippet (or just the ID), tick “Show on my site” and save.
- Add the “Praising Reviews” block to any page, or use the shortcode
[praising_reviews].

Do I need a Praising account?

Yes — the widget and your reviews live in your Praising account. The Forever Free plan needs no card.

Where do I find my widget ID?

In your Praising dashboard under Visibility Widgets. Copy the whole install snippet and paste it into Settings Praising; the plugin reads the ID out of it.

Can I show different widgets on different pages?

Yes. The widget saved in Settings Praising is the default. Give any block or shortcode its own ID to show a different widget there:

Will it slow my site down?

The widget loads in its own frame, lazily, only on pages where you place it, and the only script the plugin adds is a few lines that keep that frame the right height.

Does it change my theme’s styles?

No. The widget is drawn inside its own frame, so your theme’s styles and the widget’s cannot affect each other.

How do I remove it?

Untick “Show on my site” to stop loading the widget everywhere at once, or remove the block or shortcode from a page. Deleting the plugin also removes its saved settings.
