Description
Hookniva Checkout Trace for WooCommerce helps you investigate missing shipping methods and payment gateways at checkout. Select products and a test shipping address, then compare your enabled settings with the methods WooCommerce actually returns.
Shipping methods not showing
Investigate WooCommerce shipping methods not showing for a specific product, country, state, postcode, or city. See the matched shipping zone and returned shipping rates. When no shipping options are available, compare the result with enabled methods and inspect code that can affect shipping availability.
Payment gateways not showing
Investigate WooCommerce payment gateways not showing under the selected cart and address conditions. Compare enabled payment methods with available gateways, and inspect callbacks that can filter the payment options.
Checkout troubleshooting for store owners and developers
Use the diagnostic to narrow down shipping and payment availability problems before changing store settings. The report shows current test results and code candidates to inspect; it does not guarantee the root cause or automatically fix checkout errors.
The plugin can:
- Build an isolated diagnostic cart from selected products.
- Recalculate shipping for a test country, state, postcode, and city.
- Show the shipping zone and rates WooCommerce returns for that test package.
- Show payment gateways WooCommerce considers available for the test cart.
- Compare configured/enabled methods with methods actually available under the test conditions.
- Inspect callbacks registered on key WooCommerce shipping and payment filters.
- Show callback priority, source type, and a WordPress-relative source path when it can be identified.
- Highlight external plugin, theme, MU-plugin, or custom-code callbacks as investigation candidates when checkout options disappear.
The plugin does not create orders, automatically disable plugins, or change shipping/payment/product settings. It runs normal WooCommerce cart and checkout calculation hooks during a diagnostic, so third-party callbacks registered on those hooks can execute.
A callback shown in a report is an investigation candidate, not proof that the callback caused the problem.
Checkout Blocks
This version diagnoses server-side WooCommerce shipping/payment availability and PHP hooks. Checkout Blocks also use Store API and browser-side JavaScript registration, so the plugin does not claim to trace every JavaScript-only decision made by a block-based checkout. Plugins that explicitly branch on front-end request context (for example is_checkout()) can also behave differently during an admin diagnostic request.
Privacy and external services
Hookniva Checkout Trace does not send diagnostic data to Hookniva or any external service. It does not create its own database tables and does not store diagnostic reports after the request finishes. It stores only the current administrator’s Korean/English UI preference in WordPress user meta so the selected plugin language is remembered. Korean interface translations are included with the plugin, so the Korean UI works without a separate language pack. Installed WordPress.org Korean language packs can also provide updated translations.

FAQ
-
Does this plugin change my shipping or payment settings?
-
No. It does not intentionally change product, shipping, payment, or order settings. The diagnostic builds an isolated cart for the request and runs WooCommerce’s normal calculation hooks.
-
Does the diagnostic create an order?
-
No. It calculates cart, shipping, and payment availability without placing an order.
-
Does a listed callback prove which plugin is causing the issue?
-
No. The callback list narrows the investigation to code that can influence the relevant WooCommerce filter. Shipping zones, addresses, shipping classes, payment rules, currency, order value, and other conditions can also explain why an option is unavailable.
-
Does it support variable products?
-
Yes. A selected variation is added to the diagnostic cart using its parent product, variation ID, and variation attributes.
-
Does it fully trace Checkout Blocks?
-
No. It reports WooCommerce server-side availability and PHP hooks. Conditions that exist only in browser-side JavaScript are outside the scope of this version.
-
Does the plugin send data off-site?
-
No. There is no telemetry, tracking, license server, or external API in version 1.0.7.

- English diagnostic money values now always include the real WooCommerce store currency code, such as KRW 4,000 or USD 40.00.
- Shipping costs and cart totals use the same currency-explicit formatter.
- The plugin does not perform exchange-rate conversion, preserving the exact checkout currency being diagnosed.
1.0.4
- Fixed the remaining WooCommerce stored labels in English mode.
- Current payment settings now show canonical English names for WooCommerce core gateways.
- Current shipping settings now show canonical English names for WooCommerce core shipping methods.
- Diagnostic result cards use the same language-aware payment and shipping names.

- Core payment gateways now use canonical English names in English mode.
- Core shipping methods now use canonical English names in English mode.
- Administrator-defined shipping zone names use neutral English zone labels in English mode because free-text names cannot be translated reliably offline.

1.0.2
- Country names now follow the plugin-only Korean / English language switch instead of the WordPress site locale.
- Address labels no longer mix WooCommerce site-locale labels into the opposite plugin language.

- English mode stays English even when WordPress itself is using Korean.
- Fixed Quantity label alignment so it starts on the same left edge as Product search.
- Cleans the saved UI-language preference on uninstall.
1.0.0
- First stable release.
- Matched the state/province field to WooCommerce’s country address rules instead of always showing a similar-looking free-text field.
- Countries with WooCommerce state lists use a dropdown; countries where WooCommerce hides the state field hide it here too; free-text state fields remain available where WooCommerce uses them.
- Clarified City / district labeling so it is distinct from State / province / region.
- Finalized Korean translations, diagnostic cause analysis, lightweight product search, and read-only checkout tracing.
0.9.7
- Repositioned quantity below the product search so it no longer sits isolated at the far right.
- Removed the unnecessary quantity stepper and restored a compact number field.

0.9.6

- Clarified WooCommerce product-search minimum-length messaging.
- Added live developer diagnostics that identify which checkout hook should be inspected first.

- Added explicit variation-product handling.
- Escaped shipping cost output and stripped markup from dynamic shipping/payment labels.

- Added machine-readable callback source types so candidate filtering no longer depends on translated labels.
- Clarified that diagnostics run normal WooCommerce calculation hooks and that listed callbacks are candidates, not proof.
- Removed the previous Checkout Blocks compatibility declaration because this version does not alter the checkout flow and does not trace every browser-side condition.
0.2.0
