RSC QR Generator

Description

A QR code generator that lives in wp-admin under QR Codes.

• Encodes a URL, plain text, an email address, a phone number, an SMS, or Wi-Fi credentials.
• Full styling: dot and corner shapes, colours, gradients, background colour and rounding, quiet zone, size, error-correction level, and a centre logo picked from the Media Library.
• Downloads as PNG or SVG, or saves to the Media Library — with the style config stored on the attachment, so any saved code can be loaded straight back into the form and tweaked.
• Style presets. Three neutral presets ship with the plugin; anything else you build can be saved as a named preset and reused on later codes. Presets store the style fields (including the centre logo), not the content.

Rendering happens entirely in the browser — no PHP QR library, no third-party API, nothing about your codes leaves the site.

Capabilities

• Building, downloading and saving codes needs upload_files (Author and up), the same capability WordPress uses for any other upload.

• Creating and deleting presets needs edit_theme_options (Administrator), because presets are shared site-wide. Change that with the rsc_qr_preset_capability filter:

  Bundled library

  QR rendering is done in the browser by qr-code-styling 1.9.2 by Denys Kozak, MIT licensed, bundled at assets/vendor/qr-code-styling.js as the project’s own prebuilt UMD file.

No other build step is involved: the plugin’s own CSS and JavaScript are uncompiled and readable as shipped.

External services

This plugin does not connect to any external service. QR codes are generated in your browser, and saved codes are written to your own Media Library. The panel links out to rscmedia.co.uk and optiq-seo.com, but nothing is sent to either.
