Description
Kloovia adds social share and follow buttons to your site without the page-weight tax most sharing plugins charge.
Nothing loads on pages that have no buttons. Where buttons do appear, Kloovia adds roughly 3.5 KB of CSS and 5 KB of JavaScript over the wire: no jQuery, no icon image requests, no third-party scripts.
What it does
- Share and follow on one button set. Every network can share the current page, link to your profile, or both.
- Five ways to place buttons: automatically in post content, a floating bar, the Share buttons block, the
[kloovia]shortcode, or a widget. - 23 icon styles, all drawn from one SVG sprite, so they stay sharp at any size and cost no extra requests.
- Share counts, cached and refreshed in the background, never fetched while a visitor is waiting.
- A follow-us popup with scroll, delay, exit-intent or on-load triggers.
- An email subscription form that stores addresses on your own site, or connects to Mailchimp or Brevo.
- Click counting stored locally. No external analytics.
- QR codes for scan-to-share networks such as WeChat, generated on your own site. The encoder is only downloaded if a visitor opens one.
Privacy
Kloovia makes no third-party requests unless you switch on a feature that needs one, and it collects no telemetry of any kind. Share buttons are plain links to each network’s own share page; nothing is loaded from those networks until a visitor clicks.
Networks
Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Tumblr, Buffer, Xing, Messenger, VK, Odnoklassniki, Weibo, WeChat, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Houzz, Spotify, GitHub, Discord, RSS, email, SMS, copy link and print.
Switching from Ultimate Social Media PLUS
Kloovia detects an existing Ultimate Social Media PLUS installation and offers to import its settings: networks, links, icon style, sizing, placement and popup, in one click. Its [DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_PLUS] shortcode keeps working, so posts do not need editing.
External services
Kloovia makes no outbound requests at all in its default configuration. Every service below is optional and is only contacted after you enter a credential for it.
Facebook Graph API: used only if you switch on automatic share counts for Facebook and supply an access token. Kloovia sends the URL whose count it is fetching, plus your token, to graph.facebook.com. Nothing about your visitors is sent. Terms: https://developers.facebook.com/terms/. Privacy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
YouTube Data API (Google): used only if you switch on automatic counts for YouTube and supply an API key. Kloovia sends your channel ID and API key to www.googleapis.com to read the public subscriber count. Terms: https://developers.google.com/youtube/terms/api-services-terms-of-service. Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Mailchimp: used only if you set the subscription form’s provider to Mailchimp and supply an API key. The subscriber’s email address is sent to api.mailchimp.com when they submit the form. Terms: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/. Privacy: https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/
Brevo: used only if you set the subscription form’s provider to Brevo and supply an API key. The subscriber’s email address is sent to api.brevo.com when they submit the form. Terms: https://www.brevo.com/legal/termsofuse/. Privacy: https://www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/
Share buttons themselves contact nothing. They are ordinary links to each network’s own share page, so a network is only reached after a visitor clicks.

FAQ
-
Does this slow my site down?
-
Not on pages without buttons, where nothing is loaded at all. On pages with buttons it adds roughly 3.5 KB of CSS and 5 KB of JavaScript over the wire, and no image requests: the icons are one inline SVG sprite carrying only the symbols that page actually uses.
-
No. Most networks closed their public count APIs years ago. Kloovia fetches counts where an API still exists and you have supplied a key, and lets you set a fixed number anywhere else.
-
Does it work with caching plugins?
-
Yes. The markup is identical for every visitor, so it caches cleanly.
-
Yes, use the
[kloovia]shortcode, or callecho do_shortcode( '[kloovia]' );in a template. -
Yes. Kloovia can output Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, and every post gets optional overrides for the share title, description and image. It defers automatically when an SEO plugin is already emitting those tags, so nothing is output twice.
-
What happens to my settings if I delete the plugin?
-
Nothing, unless you asked for them to be removed. Deleting Kloovia leaves its settings in place so a reinstall picks up where you left off. There is an opt-in under Advanced if you want everything erased.

Changelog
1.0.1
- Fixed: the follow-us popup never appeared. The script ran before the popup markup existed in the page, so every trigger silently did nothing. The script is now deferred.
- Fixed: closing the popup left keyboard focus on a hidden element, and Tab could leave the dialog while it claimed to be modal.
- Fixed: button groups had no accessible name, so screen readers announced a bare list of links with no context.
- Added: right-to-left stylesheet, loaded automatically on RTL locales.
- Improved: redesigned the follow-us popup and the subscription form, which now use one shared accent instead of each inventing its own colour.
- Improved: the settings screen lays related fields out side by side instead of one narrow column.
1.0.0
