Westroo Short URL Manager lets site owners create short URLs on their own WordPress domain, redirect visitors, and track useful click stats without depending on an external shortening service.

Westroo Short URL Manager is designed as a free community package. All plugin data is stored in your WordPress database.

Privacy
Westroo Short URL Manager stores link records, click counts, optional detailed click rows, referrer data, user-agent data, and anonymized IP addresses in your WordPress database only when tracking is enabled and statistics consent is present. Site administrators can disable tracking, enable or disable IP anonymization, and configure click retention in plugin settings.
The plugin does not connect to a hosted short-link service. Optional features are disabled by default and can contact only URLs configured by a site administrator, including target URL health checks, webhook endpoints, and checkout handoff URLs.

Installation
- Upload the
westroo-short-url-managerfolder to/wp-content/plugins/. - Activate Westroo Short URL Manager from the WordPress Plugins screen.
- Open Westroo Short URL Manager > Settings and review the slug prefix, tracking, privacy, and retention settings.
- Open Westroo Short URL Manager > Short URLs and create your first short URL.

Does Westroo Short URL Manager use an external shortening service?

No. Short URLs are resolved by your WordPress site.

Can I turn off tracking?

Yes. Tracking is off by default. If enabled, click tracking only runs when the site provides statistics consent through the WordPress Consent API or the
wrsum_tracking_consentfilter. -
Does the plugin store full IP addresses?

By default, IP anonymization is enabled. You can review or change this in settings.

Yes. When click tracking is enabled and statistics consent is present, Westroo Short URL Manager uses an HTTP-only visitor cookie to help count unique clicks without storing the raw visitor identifier.

Does Westroo Short URL Manager send data to external services?

Not by default. Health checks are disabled by default and, if enabled, request the target URLs you create. Webhooks and checkout handoffs are disabled until an administrator configures and enables them in settings.

How do I import links?

Open Westroo Short URL Manager > Tools, download the sample CSV, fill it in, and upload it from the same screen.
