Datalinc GST Docs for WooCommerce

Description

Datalinc GST Docs for WooCommerce by Datalinc Pty Ltd helps GST-registered Australian WooCommerce merchants issue Tax invoice and Adjustment note PDFs from paid orders and qualifying refunds.

Helps produce documents that include the details in GST Act s 29-70 / s 29-75 (and LI 2022/31 for adjustment notes). Not legal advice. Not a BAS lodgement service. Not affiliated with the ATO.

Local PDFs (always included)

Tax invoice and adjustment note PDF generation ships in this plugin and runs entirely on your WordPress/PHP server (Dompdf). No site key is required to issue documents on paid orders. Order PII and PDF bytes are stored on your site and are not sent to wootf.com for storage.

Optional companion service at wootf.com (Guideline 6 serviceware)

A site key from wootf.com is an optional service account for features that cannot run locally: live ABR ABN lookup and GST-registration period checks via the wootf.com companion API. Without a key, settings show that the ABR companion is disconnected — PDFs are not locked. The site key does not unlock hidden local files. There is no time-limited trial and no encrypted/hidden PHP.

  • Service / checkout: https://api.wootf.com/checkout
  • Product site, Privacy & Terms: https://wootf.com
  • Support: support@datalinc.io
  • Pricing (companion only): A$19/mo or A$149/yr + GST. One site per key. Cancel anytime; issued PDFs stay on your WooCommerce install.

Features

  • Tax invoice PDF on paid order (Checkout Block / Store API, classic checkout, admin-created orders) — works without a site key
  • Buyer ABN via WooCommerce Additional Checkout Fields API
  • Recipient identity or ABN required when order total ≥ A$1,000
  • Adjustment note PDF when refund GST adjustment > A$75 (not a generic credit note)
  • Period CSV with G1 / 1A / 1B as a bookkeeping aid (header states it is not a BAS; we never lodge)
  • Optional: supplier ABN checked via the wootf.com ABR proxy when a companion site key is connected (authentication GUID stays on the service, never in this plugin)
  • PDFs render on your PHP (Dompdf)

Requires

  • WordPress 6.4+
  • PHP 8.1+
  • WooCommerce (current releases with Checkout Block supported)

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin ZIP via Plugins Add New Upload Plugin, or install Datalinc GST Docs for WooCommerce from wordpress.org when approved, then activate. WooCommerce must be active.
  2. Open WooCommerce Settings GST Docs.
  3. Enter supplier legal name and ABN.
  4. Place a paid test order — a Tax invoice PDF attaches to the customer email and is stored on the order (on your site). No site key required.
  5. (Optional) Get a companion site key at https://api.wootf.com/checkout, paste it, and run Check ABN via ABR for live ABR / GST-registration lookup.
  6. Refund with GST adjustment > A$75 — an Adjustment note is generated.
  7. Use WooCommerce Datalinc GST Docs for WooCommerce export for the period CSV bookkeeping aid.

FAQ

Is this affiliated with the ATO?

No. Helps produce documents that include the details in GST Act s 29-70 / s 29-75. Not legal advice. Not a BAS lodgement service.

Do I need a site key to generate PDFs?

No. All tax-invoice and adjustment-note PDF code ships in the plugin (GPLv2 or later) and runs on your server. The optional site key is only for the ABR / GST-registration companion service documented at https://wootf.com (see Privacy & Terms there).

Is the site key trialware that unlocks the plugin?

No. The site key is a Guideline 6 service account for remote ABR lookup only. Local PDF features are not gated.

Where are PDFs stored?

On your WordPress server under uploads (merchant PHP / Dompdf). They are not hosted on the wootf.com Worker.

Is the CSV a BAS?

No. The CSV header states it is not a BAS and we never lodge with the ATO. 1B is always 0 (purchases are not tracked).

What if my order is under A$82.50?

Tax invoices are still issued subject to supplier ABN and other document rules.
