SEOforGPT is a self-serve GEO platform for brands and in-house marketing teams. This plugin connects WordPress to the hosted SEOforGPT service so teams can move from visibility research to content creation, controlled publishing, and AI crawler measurement without copying work between tools.
A measurable content workflow

The plugin provides two independently configured features:
- Content Publishing creates and updates SEOforGPT-generated WordPress posts. Publishing defaults to drafts. Live publishing requires an explicit WordPress administrator setting.
- AI Crawler Analytics measures recognized AI crawler requests, AI referral hostnames, and aggregate page-request totals. Account authorization installs its credential automatically, but analytics remains disabled until a WordPress administrator enables and saves it.
An SEOforGPT account is required. Click Connect SEOforGPT account to sign in or create an account, choose the project for this WordPress site, review the requested access, and approve the connection. WordPress prepares Content Publishing and, when needed, the Crawler Analytics credential automatically. Credential installation does not enable analytics. Some SEOforGPT service features may require a paid plan. Installing the plugin does not guarantee improved AI visibility or mentions. It provides a measurable workflow that helps teams turn identified gaps into content and evaluate what changes over time. All PHP and JavaScript source distributed with this plugin is readable and available under the GPL.

This plugin connects to SEOforGPT, a hosted service at https://seoforgpt.io.
Only after a WordPress administrator explicitly clicks Connect SEOforGPT account, Set up analytics only, or Connect Analytics with SEOforGPT, the plugin sends the site URL, WordPress REST URL, plugin version, connection purpose, and draft or live publishing preference to an SEOforGPT API hosted on Supabase. The administrator signs in or creates an account on SEOforGPT, chooses a project, and explicitly approves access. WordPress stores a hash of the resulting publishing token plus a separate disconnect-only proof, and stores the Crawler Analytics credential as a non-autoloaded WordPress option. Preparing that credential does not enable analytics or send analytics data. The manual fallback additionally sends a one-time connection key and administration URL. SEOforGPT then sends authenticated publishing payloads to this site’s seoforgpt/v1 REST routes. Those payloads may contain post titles, HTML content, excerpts, slugs, status, categories, tags, featured-image URLs, SEO metadata, project IDs, and generated-content IDs.
When AI Crawler Analytics is explicitly enabled, requests are sent to an SEOforGPT API hosted on Supabase. They may include timestamps, site hostname, query-free request paths, HTTP method and status, recognized crawler identifiers, AI referrer hostnames, aggregate page-request totals, plugin version, runtime, and site URL. The official plugin does not add visitor IP addresses, full referrer URLs, cookies, request bodies, emails, WordPress user IDs, logged-in traffic, or human browser user agents to these payloads. Ordinary hosting and service network logs may still contain standard connection information.

SEOforGPT uses Supabase as its backend infrastructure provider. The SEOforGPT API endpoints listed in the plugin are hosted on Supabase, so the data described above is transmitted through Supabase infrastructure only when the corresponding SEOforGPT connection or explicitly enabled analytics feature is used.

Deleting this WordPress plugin removes settings owned by the official plugin. On migrated sites, legacy option values and published-post metadata are intentionally preserved to support rollback. Deleting the plugin does not delete data held in the user’s SEOforGPT account. Account-data requests must be made through SEOforGPT.

Installation
- Install and activate SEOforGPT AI Visibility and Content Publishing.
- Open Settings > SEOforGPT.
- Under Content Publishing, click Connect SEOforGPT account.
- Sign in or create an SEOforGPT account, choose the correct project, and approve this WordPress site.
- Return to WordPress while the connection completes automatically. If the browser handoff fails, use the one-time-key fallback under Having trouble?
- Keep Allow live publishing off to send every article to WordPress as a draft for review.
- To use AI Crawler Analytics, confirm that its status is Ready to enable, enable it, and save the settings. If Content Publishing was connected before this feature was available, click Connect Analytics with SEOforGPT first. No key copying is required in the normal flow.
If migrating from the legacy SEOforGPT plugin, deactivate the legacy plugin before activating this one. Verify Content Publishing and AI Crawler Analytics before deleting the inactive legacy plugin. Existing connection values and generated-content post metadata are preserved.

Do I need an SEOforGPT account?

Yes. Open Settings > SEOforGPT and click Connect SEOforGPT account. You can sign in or create an account, choose the correct project, and approve the connection in a new browser tab.

Does the plugin publish posts automatically?

Publishing defaults to drafts. Live publishing works only when a WordPress administrator explicitly enables Allow live publishing.

Does AI Crawler Analytics track normal visitors?

Normal human page requests are represented only as aggregate totals. Raw events are limited to recognized AI crawlers and AI referral hostnames. Logged-in traffic is excluded.

Does connecting SEOforGPT start analytics automatically?

No. Authorization can install the Crawler Analytics credential automatically, but analytics sends nothing until a WordPress administrator enables AI Crawler Analytics and saves the settings.

Does the official plugin send IP addresses?

The plugin does not add visitor IP addresses to analytics payloads. As with ordinary web traffic, hosting and service network logs may contain standard connection information.

Will repeat publishing create duplicate posts?

No. The plugin preserves
_seoforgpt_generated_content_id, which is used to update the corresponding WordPress post when the same SEOforGPT content is published again. Unrelated posts are not changed. -
Publishing pauses with an authorization error until an administrator reconnects Content Publishing and selects a valid author.

Does installing the plugin guarantee better AI visibility?

No. Crawlability, relevance, evidence, authority, corroboration, and time can all affect whether an AI system uses a page. SEOforGPT helps teams identify gaps, publish relevant content, and measure the workflow.
