How to add one

Use the Gutenberg block (“InResRisk Calculator”) to pick a calculator, theme, and units from a dropdown, or use the shortcode directly:

Every calculator ships with a title above it by default, so readers immediately know what it is. A short description and a “read the full guide” link are both available but off by default — turn either on from the block’s sidebar, or via extra shortcode attributes:

• title — custom heading text. Leave blank to use the default (e.g. “Waist-to-Height Ratio Calculator”).
• show_title — true (default) or false.
• description — custom one-line description. Leave blank to use the built-in description for that calculator.
• show_description — true or false (default).
• article_url — link target for the “Read the full guide” link. Leave blank to use the InResRisk guide for that calculator, where one exists.
• show_article_link — true or false (default). Off by default so no link to InResRisk appears unless you choose to add one.

Why it’s safe to add

• The calculator engine is bundled with the plugin and runs from your own site — no code is loaded from inresrisk.com or any other external server to display or run a calculator.
• The bundled script (under 5 KB gzipped) only loads on pages that actually use a calculator — never sitewide.
• Each calculator runs inside a Shadow DOM, fully isolated from your theme’s CSS. Your styles can’t break it, and it can’t leak styles onto your page.
• No cookies, no login, no personal data collected from your visitors’ calculator inputs.
• No branding by default. You can optionally show a small “Powered by InResRisk” link below each calculator — off unless you turn it on under Settings → InResRisk Calculators.
• Anonymous usage analytics is opt-in and off by default — nothing is sent to InResRisk unless you turn it on under Settings → InResRisk Calculators.

External services

This plugin’s calculators run entirely from JavaScript bundled with the plugin — no code is loaded from inresrisk.com, or any other external server, to display or run a calculator. The only connection this plugin can ever make to inresrisk.com (a service not affiliated with WordPress.org) is an anonymous analytics beacon, and it’s opt-in: off by default, and only sent if you explicitly enable it under Settings → InResRisk Calculators in your WordPress admin.

What is sent, and when:

• Anonymous usage analytics is opt-in and disabled by default. Nothing is sent to https://inresrisk.com/api/track unless you explicitly enable it. If you turn it on, the calculator sends an anonymous beacon when a visitor loads a calculator, completes a calculation, or (if you’ve also enabled the attribution link below) clicks it. This includes only the calculator type, your site’s hostname, a randomly generated browser ID stored in the visitor’s browser (not linked to any personal data), and the selected theme. No names, emails, or health figures entered into the calculator are ever transmitted — the calculation runs entirely in the browser. As with any web request, the visitor’s IP address is visible to the server when their browser sends a beacon to /api/track; InResRisk does not intentionally log or store IP addresses from these requests.
• The “Powered by InResRisk” credit link is also opt-in and disabled by default. No link to inresrisk.com is shown on your site’s front end unless you explicitly enable it under Settings → InResRisk Calculators.
