BrightApp Word Highlighter

Description

BrightApp Word Highlighter helps you mark important words and phrases while writing in the block editor. Highlights are visual only in the editor — they do not rewrite your post content.

Features

  • One word library with two color categories (Yellow, Green)
  • One link library for quick reference while editing
  • Per-post control — choose which library words are active on each post or page
  • Visual-only editor highlights (overlay-based; post content stays untouched)
  • Frontend highlight toggle in the WordPress admin bar (logged-in editors only)
  • Toggle state persists across page navigations (sessionStorage)
  • Simple category tags for organizing library entries

FAQ

Who can manage the global libraries?

Site administrators (manage_options) can edit word and link libraries under Settings Word Highlighter. Editors can still enable highlights per post from the sidebar panel.

Do highlights change my post content?

No. In the editor, highlights are drawn as overlays and do not modify Gutenberg text. On the frontend, temporary highlight marks are added only for logged-in users who can edit posts, and they are not saved into the post.

Where can I find support or more products?

Visit https://brightappstudio.com.

Will there be a premium version?

Yes — as a separate Pro add-on on brightappstudio.com with extra libraries, colors, and CSV tools. This free plugin on WordPress.org stays complete under the GPL and is not trialware.
