Description
Ably Custom Icon Field for ACF adds a custom field type for Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) with a visual icon picker:
- Visual grid: Display imported icons in a searchable modal.
- Live search: Filter icons by label or CSS class.
- Multiple collections: Import, review, and remove multiple IcoMoon ZIP collections.
- Safe field values: Validate selected icon classes against the available icon list.
External icon fonts
External icon libraries are optional. The plugin does not bundle third-party icon fonts. Administrators may provide authorized CDN URLs in the plugin settings and are responsible for complying with the applicable license terms.
Usage
- Go to ACF > Field Groups.
- Add a field and select the “Ab Icon” field type.
- Choose the return format: CSS class or HTML.

Installation
- Upload the
ably-custom-icon-field-for-acffolder to/wp-content/plugins/. - Activate the plugin from the WordPress Plugins screen.
- Install and activate Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Go to Custom Icons > General Settings and import an IcoMoon ZIP export.
You can import multiple ZIP collections. Imported fonts and icon classes are kept together, and each collection can be removed from the settings page when it is no longer needed.
The settings page shows the imported ZIP name, import date, and icon count.
