If you do not configure an API key, the chatbot can still use its local keyword-matching system to answer questions based on the services and FAQs you configure.

You control which AI provider is used and provide your own API key.

Only one configured AI provider is used for an individual response. The website administrator is responsible for their selected provider’s API usage, costs, and applicable terms.

Privacy

Boto AI Pilot does not require an external AI service to provide its basic local fallback functionality.

When an administrator configures OpenAI or Google Gemini, visitor chat messages and relevant business context may be transmitted to the selected provider to generate responses.

The plugin does not intentionally transmit WordPress passwords or WordPress user account credentials to these AI services.

Website administrators should review their privacy policy and the applicable terms and privacy policies of their selected AI provider before enabling AI services.
