External services

Xyvorex AI Receptionist connects to the OpenAI API.

The site owner must provide their own OpenAI API key. OpenAI is used to generate AI replies and analyse website content during Website Training.

Data sent to OpenAI may include:

  • Visitor questions
  • Recent conversation context
  • Website content collected during Website Training
  • Saved business knowledge needed to generate a reply

Requests are sent only when:

  • A visitor or administrator asks the AI a question
  • The administrator runs Website Training

OpenAI API usage and billing are managed by the site owner’s OpenAI account.

The frontend chat transcript may be stored locally in the visitor’s browser for up to 7 days. It may be visible to other users of the same browser or device. Visitors can clear it using Start New Conversation.

Conversations are also stored in the WordPress database and sent to OpenAI to generate replies.

  2. Activate the plugin.
  3. Open Xyvorex AI Receptionist from the WordPress admin menu.
  4. Add your OpenAI API Key.
  5. Enter your Business Name.
  6. Train your website.
  7. Review your Knowledge.
  8. Test your AI.
  9. Enable the Public Chat Widget.

To change responses immediately, simply update your Knowledge or Manual Knowledge and test again.

Is the visitor chat transcript stored in the browser?

The public chat widget may store the visitor’s chat transcript locally in their browser for up to 7 days so the conversation can continue after page reloads or return visits.

This local transcript may be visible to other people using the same browser or device. Visitors can clear it by selecting Start New Conversation in the chat widget.

Conversations are also stored in WordPress and sent to OpenAI to generate replies.

Does Xyvorex AI Receptionist work with any theme?
