Image AI Labels marks AI-generated images on your WordPress website with a clearly visible label (“AI-generated” / “KI-generiert”) – helping you prepare for upcoming legal labeling requirements for AI content.

The free version reliably labels all standard images in your posts and pages. Does your theme use complex CSS background images or a page builder like Elementor? Then check out our Pro plugin below.

How it works:

Open the media library (list view) – you will find a new “AI Label” column there.
Check the box for every AI-generated image.
The label automatically appears wherever the image is displayed on your website.

Installation

Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install it via “Plugins -> Add New”.
Activate the plugin.
Go to “Settings -> Image AI Labels” to configure the label text, font size and opacity.
In the media library, check the box for every image that should be marked as AI-generated.

FAQ

Are all images labeled automatically?: No. You decide per image, via a checkbox in the media library, which images are marked as AI-generated.
Where exactly is the label displayed?: Wherever a marked image is output through the media library in posts/pages. The position is calculated dynamically based on the actual rendered image size, so it stays correctly placed even with responsive layouts.
Is any data sent to third parties?: No. This plugin does not connect to any external server and does not transmit any data.
