FAQ
-
Will rMG change my original images?
-
No. Your original Media Library uploads stay in place, so you can keep working normally and remove optimized copies later if needed.
-
Does this replace original uploads?
-
No. rMG creates separate optimized versions for delivery while preserving your source files. If an optimized version is not available, WordPress can still use the original image.
-
Which image formats can I use?
-
You can choose WebP or AVIF, two modern formats designed to reduce file size while keeping images looking sharp. If an optimized image is not available, visitors still receive the original image.
-
Can I remove optimized images later?
-
Yes. You can review generated images in the optimized media library and delete them when you no longer need them.
-
Does this plugin use a third-party service?
-
Yes. rMG uses the ProxSEO rMG image optimization service when optimization runs. See the External Services section for the full disclosure.
