This plugin is the official WordPress client for ProChat, the AI chat and lead-capture service operated by Witarist (https://useprochat.com). It loads the chat widget on your site and lets you manage appearance, your knowledge base, and incoming leads directly inside wp-admin. Your account, conversations, knowledge base and leads live in the ProChat service; the plugin connects WordPress to it.

External services
This plugin connects to ProChat, an external AI chat and lead-capture service operated by Witarist, to provide all of its functionality. The service powers the chat widget and stores your account, knowledge base, conversations and leads.
Data is sent to the service (https://useprochat.com) in these cases:
- On the front end — the chat widget script is loaded from the service on pages where the widget is shown. When a visitor uses the chat, the messages they send and basic page context (such as the current page URL) are sent to the service so the AI can reply and a lead can be captured.
- In wp-admin — when you connect or configure the plugin, the following is sent to the service’s API: the email address and password you enter (used once to obtain an access token), your site URL, and any knowledge-base content you add, import or upload. After connecting, only a connection token (kept server-side) and your widget ID are stored in WordPress.
The service is required for the plugin to work. By using it you agree to the ProChat Terms of Service and Privacy Policy:

Installation
- Upload the
witarist-ai-chat-lead-capturefolder to/wp-content/plugins/, or install the .zip via Plugins Add New Upload Plugin. - Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
- Open Witarist Chat in the admin menu and click Activate (or connect an existing account).
- That’s it — the AI chat widget is live on your site.

Do I need an account first?

No. “Activate” creates a ProChat account for you from inside WordPress and verifies your email with a code. You can set a password to log in at useprochat.com later, but it isn’t required.

What does the AI answer from?

Your own content. Import your website pages or upload documents (PDF, Word, .md, .txt) and the assistant answers visitors from that knowledge base.

Can I edit what the assistant knows?

Yes. The Knowledge base tab lets you view, edit, add, upload and delete entries, and a built-in Test chat lets you preview answers before going live.

Where is my data stored?

Conversations, knowledge base and leads live in your ProChat account on the external service (see External services above). The plugin stores only a connection token (server-side) and your widget ID.

Does it slow down my site?

No. The widget loads asynchronously and the processing happens on the service’s servers, not your WordPress host.
