SkillStudy SEO Pro is designed around WordPress-native APIs and an additive module architecture. Public custom post types are discovered dynamically, making it suitable for education, course and learning-resource sites.

LMS Compatibility

The plugin does not require a fixed course or module slug. It inspects registered public post types and their labels/rewrite slugs to detect course, module, lesson and learning content. Parent-course metadata is read from a small set of common relationship keys and can be extended with the skilsepr_schema_context filter.

Sitemap

The primary sitemap is:

The sitemap index can contain separate child maps for each eligible public post type and taxonomy. Published content marked noindex is excluded.

After activation or a sitemap setting change, WordPress rewrite rules are refreshed automatically. Saving Settings > Permalinks can be used as a manual fallback.

Structured Data

Schema output is generated as JSON-LD and is indexability-aware. The plugin only emits rich content properties when the source data is available. A schema type can be selected per content item, while automatic detection handles common article and learning patterns.

When another SEO system is responsible for the main schema graph, the plugin can add its content entity through supported integration hooks instead of printing a second complete graph.

AI Client

The optional content assistant uses the WordPress AI Client introduced in WordPress 7.0. Credentials and provider selection are handled by WordPress rather than stored as a provider-specific key by this plugin.

External Services

IndexNow

When the site owner enables URL notifications and configures an IndexNow key, the plugin sends the site’s hostname, the key, and the public URL of an eligible published, updated, or deleted item to the IndexNow endpoint at https://api.indexnow.org/indexnow. This is optional and no notification is sent when the feature is disabled or no key is configured. IndexNow distributes URL-change notifications to participating search engines; it does not guarantee crawling or indexing.

IndexNow is an open protocol rather than a user-account service; consult the linked protocol documentation for its service terms and data handling information.

Analytics

If the site owner configures an analytics provider, its tracking script may load only after visitor consent is granted. The provider may receive data according to its own configuration and policies. The site owner must identify the selected provider, explain data collection and retention in their privacy notice, and comply with applicable consent requirements. No single analytics provider is required by this plugin.

Privacy

The plugin stores SEO settings and content metadata in the site’s WordPress database. No visitor profile is created by the SEO metadata features. If analytics is enabled, tracking is gated by the consent preference stored in the visitor’s browser.

Source code and build tools

The plugin’s PHP and JavaScript source files are included in this package. The admin JavaScript at assets/js/admin.js is human-readable and is loaded directly; no minification/build step is required to regenerate it. Edit the included source file directly. The same applies to the included editor scripts.
