Connect Contact Form 7 to Mailchimp, Brevo, MailerLite & Klaviyo

Description

ChimpMatic Lite is a Mailchimp integration for Contact Form 7 that also connects forms to Brevo, MailerLite, and Klaviyo. Send form submissions to email marketing lists, audiences, or groups without replacing Contact Form 7 or adding a separate automation platform.

Choose a provider for each form, connect the account, select a destination, and map Contact Form 7 fields to subscriber fields. Existing Mailchimp forms keep their saved audience, field mappings, credentials, and opt-in settings after upgrading.

Contact Form 7 Email Marketing Integrations

Choose one provider independently for each Contact Form 7 form. Each integration sends submitted subscriber data directly to the audience, list, or group selected in that form’s settings.

Mailchimp integration for Contact Form 7 – Connect through one-click OAuth or an API key, choose an audience, map merge fields, and select single or double opt-in. Read the Mailchimp setup guide.

Brevo integration for Contact Form 7 – Connect with a Brevo API key, choose a list, map contact attributes, and select direct subscription or a Brevo confirmation email. Read the Brevo setup guide.

MailerLite integration for Contact Form 7 – Connect with a MailerLite API token, choose a group, and map subscriber fields. Double opt-in follows the MailerLite account setting. Read the MailerLite setup guide.

Klaviyo integration for Contact Form 7 – Connect with a Klaviyo private API key, choose a list, and map profile properties. Confirmation behavior follows the selected Klaviyo list. Read the Klaviyo setup guide.

Built for Contact Form 7

ChimpMatic adds a focused integration panel to each Contact Form 7 form. It does not replace your forms, introduce another form builder, or require a generic automation service between WordPress and your email provider.

Brevo API keys, MailerLite API tokens, and Klaviyo private API keys are encrypted before storage and are not displayed again after saving. Mailchimp users can avoid storing an API key by using the OAuth connection.

Wondering how this compares to the alternatives? We set out the trade-offs in ChimpMatic vs MC4WP and ChimpMatic vs WP Fusion.

ChimpMatic Pro

ChimpMatic Pro is an optional add-on for teams that need advanced provider features, expanded field mapping, advanced consent controls, subscriber tagging, and priority support. ChimpMatic Lite remains a complete Contact Form 7 integration on its own.

FAQ

Which email marketing providers does ChimpMatic Lite support?

Version 0.9.81.09 supports Mailchimp, Brevo, MailerLite, and Klaviyo. You select one provider independently for each Contact Form 7 form. See the integrations overview.

How do I connect Mailchimp to Contact Form 7?

Open the ChimpMatic tab in the Contact Form 7 editor, select Mailchimp, connect with OAuth or an API key, choose an audience, and map the form’s email field. You can then configure consent and single or double opt-in. Follow the Mailchimp setup guide.

How do I connect Brevo to Contact Form 7?

Open the ChimpMatic tab, select Brevo, enter a Brevo API key, choose a list, and map the form fields to Brevo contact attributes. You can subscribe the contact directly or use a Brevo confirmation email. Follow the Brevo setup guide, or read more about the Contact Form 7 Brevo integration.

Can Contact Form 7 send subscribers to MailerLite?

Yes. Select MailerLite in the ChimpMatic tab, connect with an API token, choose a group, and map the Contact Form 7 email field and subscriber fields. MailerLite applies the account’s API double-opt-in setting. Follow the MailerLite setup guide.

Can Contact Form 7 send leads to Klaviyo?

Yes. Select Klaviyo in the ChimpMatic tab, connect with a private API key, choose a list, and map Contact Form 7 fields to Klaviyo profile properties. Consent behavior follows the selected Klaviyo list. Follow the Klaviyo setup guide.

My form submits but nothing reaches Mailchimp. What do I check?

Usually it is the audience selection, a required merge field that is not mapped, or an opt-in checkbox that was never ticked. We walk through the seven most common causes.

Will my existing Mailchimp forms keep working?

Yes. Existing configurations default to Mailchimp and retain their saved audience, field mappings, API credentials, and opt-in behavior.

Read more about the Contact Form 7 Mailchimp integration.

Can different forms use different providers?

Yes. A newsletter form can send to MailerLite while a lead form sends to Brevo, for example. Every form stores its own provider, credentials, destination, mappings, and opt-in configuration. The same applies to multiple Mailchimp audiences.

Does ChimpMatic support double opt-in?

Yes, but the control differs by provider. Mailchimp offers single or double opt-in per form. Brevo can send a confirmation email. MailerLite follows the account’s API double-opt-in setting. Klaviyo follows the selected list’s consent behavior.

Read more about provider-specific double opt-in, or the Mailchimp double opt-in setup.

How many fields can I map in Lite?

Lite maps the required email address plus up to four additional form fields. Compatible ChimpMatic Pro features can expand the mapping limit.

Read more about Contact Form 7 field mapping, Mailchimp audience fields and merge tags, and the default audience fields.

Can I send a subscriber’s name or birthday?

Yes, by mapping those form fields to the matching audience fields. See sending the subscriber name and sending birthday fields.

Can I add subscribers to a Mailchimp group?

Yes. Choose the group in the form’s settings. There is background on how Mailchimp groups work and on replacing groups.

How do I handle GDPR consent?

Require an opt-in checkbox before subscriber data is sent, and choose the confirmation behavior your provider offers. We cover the practicalities in collecting consent with GDPR.

How does ChimpMatic compare to other Mailchimp plugins?

We keep honest comparisons, including where the other side is stronger: ChimpMatic vs MC4WP and ChimpMatic vs WP Fusion.

The settings for this plugin aren’t its own page, but a page within each CF7 form. I’m not sure if that’s any more of a limitation than strange UX. The plugin creates a cmatic_daily_cron cron job that is set to run once daily but often gets stuck and won’t run and refuses to run manually. Again, it appears to function fine without it – but then what is that cron supposedly doing?Recently, there’s a new admin bar icon in the top bar, with a nag for upgrading. That alone is enough to make me not want to upgrade to pro (for some clients I use pro, for others there’s no budget for that). Finally, when navigating away from any CF7 page, if this plugin is active the browser warning “Changes you made may not be saved” shows – whether you saved or not, whether you changed anything or not. Anyway, its pretty good, but not great. (minus one star for the nag; minus one star for the browser warning and the cron job error). These errors make me doubt if its working and want to constantly audit the MailChimp list, but with dozens of sites using it, that’s a big task.

Be Aware, once you signup for pro there is NO way of CANCELING the account. Which means they keep taxing your account every year! I am not sure how they can do this as this is not a subscription service and is illegal. We have tried to get in touch but they do not answer the emails. So it looks like now we need to go to the POLICE. Maybe they can answer here???

Tried few plugins and that is the only one that worked without any problems. Great plugin, thank you.
