{"id":9476654,"date":"2017-09-07T16:08:52","date_gmt":"2017-09-07T16:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/permalink-custom-structure-issues\/"},"modified":"2017-09-07T16:08:52","modified_gmt":"2017-09-07T16:08:52","slug":"permalink-custom-structure-issues","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/permalink-custom-structure-issues\/","title":{"rendered":"Permalink Custom Structure Issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been having problems with a custom permalink.<\/p>\n<p>The setting looks like this:<\/p>\n<p>Custom Structure without trailing slash at the end of URL.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.mysite.com\/cars\/%postname%<\/p>\n<p>Also a screen shot here:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"imgur-embed-pub\" lang=\"en\" data-id=\"a\/IWlbp\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/a\/IWlbp\">View post on imgur.com<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/s.imgur.com\/min\/embed.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The permalink works and it resolves OK, but I have been finding out some 404 error where the permalink breaks like you will see below and it can\u2019t find the \/%postname%<br \/>\nThe ratio is about five (5) 404s per 300 request, and those 404s are starting to add up.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.mysite.com\/cars\/<\/p>\n<p>A little bit of background on this web site:<\/p>\n<p>The original site was a site that was converted from a non-worpress site (Microsoft SQL) to a wordpress configuration. I created the ULR structure mentioned above to match the previous URL of the old site. The site has only 4 pages and about 3,000 posts. When implementing the URL and adding the word \/cars\/ I did not create any category or slug. I just inserted the word in the URL so I could match the old site requests.<\/p>\n<p>Any ideas on what to do here it would be great.
